I posted something previously but it went ignored. I can go through the "patch" screen but when i go to play and select my character it tells me my connection to the DEFIANCE servers has timed out. I ran a speed test and I am at 45-50 mbps. Anyone else having issues?

Third that... Just bought two copies so the gf & I could play...
I can get to the point where I have to help Cass at the reactor. Then, immediately following the cutscene I time-out from the server.. Like, wth. This game has been out for a month. How is this happening?
Edit: I should note that I have sufficient bandwidth to run two consoles on my connection. Regardless, this is occurring while it's just me on my connection w/ 1 comp idling online.
i have a 50mbps conection with 4mbps upload. NEVER have problems with this game. But all of a sudden in the lasa thour had timeout around 20 times. sometimes i can only get on for 10 seconds.
Its actually a joke.
I just downloaded the patches and everything(been away from the game for a bit) and it wont let me get past my character select. Anyone know whats going on????????
Having the same problem myself. Kinda annoying.
Also having this problem. Got to the cut scene after activating the reactor now can only log in for about 10 seconds before I get the 'timed out' message.
Apparently, was just a quick restart. All good now.
As of this writing I am still having time out issues, did this resolve for everyone or just some?
I'm having the same issue. I just bought the game about an hour ago, got to the reactor part of the tutorial and when i finished it kicked me off and I can't get back on now. I waited buying the game this long to avoid things like this... kind of off topic, but do the the developers participate on these forums or are people left hanging all the time?

the tutorial is kinda fun... ill give it another hour or so or im returning it tomorrow.
Defiance has issues and has had issues, since launch. Most of them are Server-related. Things have gotten better, but are not perfect. If you have never played Defiance before and this is your first time playing (since you mentioned tutorial), you are most likely going to end up frustrated with the technical issues. I would have suggested renting the game, prior to purchasing it, had that been an option for you.Quote:

tried logging out and restarting xbox multiple times now. i can see people in the tutorial, but it kicks me at the same spot every time. are the servers the same across all platforms?
They really need a live server status screen somewhere on this site. I'm experiencing the time out issue for the first time tonight. My connection is good. The game loads, Checks for patches and loads my character. The when I go to enter the game I get the critical error.
Played the State of Decay demo tonight. Maybe I'll download that to keep mr busy until these deal breaker issues get sorted out.
