And where'd you hear that? Because that's not how Betas work anywhere, especially considering the fact they rolled out a crash fixing patch.

I won't disagree that feedback about rewards and etc. may be related to changes at the Live version, but this is definitely not just some old build made for marketing. You're mixing up a Demo and Beta.

When the Beta ends tonight, they'll bring the Alpha servers back up, which is their long term testing environment. They'll still have quite a few players still testing things as they incorporate any bug fixes and streamline things for launch day.

I've been in the Alpha and if it's not ready yet it never will be.

they'll continue to fix the game errors when the game launches, not all the errors can be fixed/detected, nor should they all be focused on during the BETA phase. Id like the game to come out asap, with occasional patches, rather than an extended release date and a few fixes. We'll be able to find more errors as well, since we'll be exposed to the entire game rather than a limited snippet of it. They've still got the alpha for error detection anyway,

This beta is for 2 things only, to get people talking (marketing) and stress test severs for lag.

Thats it, they wont extend it and dont need to, there is a alpha team thats been testing the whole time for that.

Trion has been pretty quick to pump out fixes to problems, so don't underestimate what they are capable of. I wouldn't be surprised if a gigantic list of changes popped up from suggestions made in the beta.

actually your wrong and that is how it works, ive been in 20+ betas over the years and spent a couple years as a inhouse game tester, just because they patched this build to make it more playable for some doesnt mean a thing, just means there was a bug they hadnt caught yet, which is what happens when you open it to more people.

Either way, they cant and wont extend it, the game has already gone gold and been off to the printers for a while now, changes now will come in patches later there is no reason for them to extend the beta.

I've been in Betas and Alphas too, and that's why it sounds like a load of crock. I think you're mixing up a previous employer's working standards with another company's standards. A sweeping generalization of the system is about as far as you can get from the truth.

Honestly this final beta was a mix of both. To get peoples tongues wet and to find last minute issues. However not everyone on the final beta is going to help out. It's more so meant for bugs because it is a closed beta. If it was an open beta that's a different story.

The QA folks or Alphas may well find some of the issues weren't fixed or that the 'fixes' created new issues, so another round of fix and test will likely be required. And you want to cut into their 10 days?

We've already had 3 PC Beta tests, in January, February, and now March. It's time to add the polish and prepare for Launch.

They have a lot less than 10 days, they have to ship physicals to retailers some time.
