MAJOR PROBLEM: Devs please call everyone in to fix this ASAP

Clan/Friends and other quick menu options are missing and not returning. Additionally, you cannot get expanded options on nearby players. What does this mean? It means you cannot group up, you cannot go to friends, you cannot change phases, you cannot inspect, you cannot trade, you pretty much can't do any social activity. All clan boosts are gone. In the "social" menu it shows I have no friends, no clanmates, and searching for players just hangs the game. PLEASE get everyone off the golf course and get them into the office to fix this...XP boost weekend is worthless without social aspects. I anticipate your PROMPT response and fix.

UPDATE: If you enter a co-op match you get grouped up with a random group. Your friends list, clan list, etc all return and begin working normally...you still can't "go to friend". So, we run through the co-op mission and returned to the normal map (still in group). My friends list remains, but I still cannot see anything but the names of those on my list. Clan list gone. But, the best part is that now when I try to "leave" the group, I can't...so I'm permanently in a group of random players until logout... :( This is making me sad :(

yea and ark falls are all glitchy. fix this problem NOW!!!!!!

No social options, not remotely a new issue.
Not requesting a fix.
Requesting a complete overhaul and revamp for chat.

You're right, not a new problem...but epically worse today...usually the social option go off and on as you play and jump around the map...this is a whole other level of broken game. At least before there was the option to "join session in progress" on a friend and then use the nearby feature to group up...NOW, you can't even JOIN SESSION IN PROGRESS...it just doesn't work...WTF is going on TRION...I know you got somebody working on the weekends...

does anyone know how to ask for something nicely at all? all you all do is demand and be rude when you have an issue for gods sake just report it and be nice about it.

I am in support of your post.
Also really frustrated about this issue functional social options could do more for this game than any amount of dlc or free boosts.
Just didn't think you were asking for enough.

Dont mean to sound rude or anything but this issue has been seenby trion and theyre working on it as far as i know. But in he futjre you should put these threads in the bug report forums, as theyre more likely to be seen and adressed there.

Yeah trion needs to fix social features and bring in the dlc already.

I checked out the dev tracker and haven't seen where the Devs have acknowledged this problem as it exists today. I understand the Devs are aware of the ongoing quick menu and social menu problems, but starting today the problem has seemingly become far worse than ever before. There are a few issues posted on the xbox issues area, but I just want to cover all the bases so hopefully if a dev is monitoring this on a saturday they will see it--that's why i chose to post here.

Yea, I'm sure this time, as opposed to the previous 500 or so "You better fix this ASAP!" threads, they're really listening and every Trion employee will be called in on a weekend to fix it.

Social menu and clan seems to be working now, but it's still sketchy.

Because one of the weekly contracts is to collect something from Dark Matter Monitors I led a four person group of clan mates down to the Trolley Graveyard in SF because plenty of monitors spawn there. One member of our group kept jumping out of phase with the rest of the group, leaving her in the same place, facing the same types of enemies (scrappers and Omnivolts) but in a different phase.

She would high tail it out of there and get a small distance away from us and then shed be in our phase, but as soon a she got close, back out of phase.

The only solution seemed to be drive away and then jump back using "go to friend". But there are times lately when that option is not available because the Defiance servers have been having trouble with the friends list. Often times now I only see my friends in my clan list, with still no option to jump to them.

This is a big problem because at the VERY LEAST I like to enjoy this game playing in a group (we play every day), we shouldnt have to worry about being out of phase with each other all the time.

I haven't been able to see any friends/clan members since this morning. We've all went to dashboard and restarted numerous times. I've also tried to join session and send invite to friend.

Someone said that Trion was aware of this but I haven't' been able to find an official word. can someone point me to it?

yes. Im having this problem to. Can inspect other players, send clan invites, and my friends/clan list isn't showing up.

Cant make groups bc of this :/

Seemed to be working earlier, at least for a little bit.

edit: sorry for the double post. My phone seems to have a mind of it's own sometimes.

This has been going on for days and they dont appear on mini maps either. Who care's most things dont work in the game

Just like to let you folks know that the social menu is still messed up folks!

Not a dam thing in this game works right which is to bad because I do love the game but unfortunately it has been messed up sence day 1. If this isn't fixed before next month they are going to loose a lot of people when Destiny comes out next month and for the simple fact of Bungie at least responds to there customers. Not saying they do a great job but at least you don't get the oh well treatment the we are getting from the well to be blunt worthless customer service here

Uhhh, Destiny isn't even being released this year dude. 2014.

My bad not next month but yes it is due to release with the Xbox 1 and has already been announced on the Bungie site
