Best assault rifle type.

Since the base stats of guns don't change as you get higher EGO, I was wondering what the best one would be. I know its just an opinion but some things are obviously better than others. So not factoring in all the extra buffs you eventually can get on a gun, what AR has the best DPS?

Edit: Im looking for full auto

Do you have a range preference? Up close the best DPS is probably the VOT Mazu. The VBI AR and FRC Assault Carbine are pretty all purpose and medium range. The VBI TACC and FRC Heavy Assault Carbine dominate long range.

What range do you wanna kill stuff at?

Just multiply out the fire rate * base damage and divide by 60. You'll likely find as I did the SAW is highest but I just can get past the low rate and poor accuracy of them. My fav is my orange VBI AR w/ Syphon.

Was looking for a universal gun, short/medium. I use a sniper as a secondary so I have long range covered.

lol no. you would need to take into account reload time, crit multiplier, and a bunch of things that aren't quantifiable. it's not possible to have an accurate weapon dps list for defiance.

I like the Vot Blast Rifle for close to mid range. It's hipfire focused, so don't bother scoping with it unless you're trying to plink something down at long range. The ammo capacity is slightly higher than the VBI assault rifle, I believe, so with a magazine extender you shouldn't have to reload too often. That keeps your dps up. To be honest, I've tried using other assault rifles since the Vot Mazu, but they just don't seem to do as much, or as well. VBI/EMC assault rifle is probably the closest.

Not doubting you but it seems like the rate of fire wouldn't make up for the loss in damage compared to something like this

Oh, whoops. I meant the Vot Blast Rifle, sorry. I'm not as fond of the Vot Mazu Blast Rifle.

Vot Blast Rifle shoots 3x40 per bullet. It's like an smg/shotgun assaultrifle.
