    @Brass.
Generally speaking, people aren't just upset at the connectivity issue. There's a list of reasons, including how M$ plans to handle used games, trading and so forth.

I didn't make this thread complaining about xbones pros or cons, but how their Interactive Entertainment Exec took a bad situation and dropped a steaming pile of shtako on it. Especially concerning his disregard for soldiers.

Simple fact is everyone in a forum for a MMOTPS or whatever does have an internet connection, yet still complain about needing to log in once a day.
    Seems a little strange.
Playstation Store, Xbox Marketplace, online multiplayer and online co-op, good luck enjoying any of these without a decent internet connection or any of the other new features on the PS4 and Xbox One.
They sign into their profiles everyday when they play, talk to their friends, download demos or watch game release videos.
It is a minority who would spend $500 odd dollars on a new console to play offline by themselves.
Fact is we buy new consoles to enjoy all their functions not to buy a single player game to play offline.

I'd think that that complaint coming specifically from that demographic would speak volumes. Just to clarify, I'm not saying this with a "U r dumb!!1!" tone, so don't take it as an attack.

I buy a console to play games I like, on-line components are irrelevant to me. The truth is people have got used to the internet and marketing follows suit trying to make everyone believe that everything has to be connected. Its funny we managed quite well without the net, earlier consoles weren't connected and were still fun.

People do not like to be dictated to, MS have decided to steam ahead with their vision of how you should use their device regardless of actual consumer opinion or needs. This is a very dangerous thing to do when you are expecting people to part with their hard earned cash for your product.

Probably wouldn't hear them complain if they didn't have internet to voice their issues.

In my opinion I will probably go Ps4. Not because of the connectivity requirements or even the issue with used games but because of how Microsoft is basically saying FU to gamers. I don't care how much more interesting tech you put in this product or even the potential of your online services when you go out of your way to say 'to bad' regarding any of the issues people have raised I cannot help but feel disgusted.

An additional note xbones or xbone reads to me as 'x' 'bones'. Gotta be a good pun in that!

It's not the ability, it's the fact. If people WITH fine connections hate it and don't want that hanging over their heads, it means something.

    This is all true.
And I guess I got off topic from what the OP wast trying to say.
It is just lately I have seen so much anger about having to have an internet connection to play the Xbox One coming from people who are obviously on the internet every day in one form or another.

When I buy games for the console, I'm generally buying it for the single player aspect. If I want to play with others, I play others, generally I buy those games on the PC if they are available. I've tried playing games online via the console, and personally I find the community worse than a 3rd graders' argument (That's just my opinion). I do own the PS3 and 360, and mostly use the 360 (which I don't have a gold account or the likes).

So I guess I would be part of that minority that would prefer not to have the Xbox 1 with constant connection necessity.

As for MS' take on the whole situation...They bought their expensive shovel and started digging their Console Grave.

Brass, I do see where your coming from, and it does seem a bit hypocritical that way, I agree.

I think the one feature that really pis sed me off personally was that I have to have someone on my friends list for over 30 days in order to lend them a game. It's really rubbing it in that I wouldn't own the games I buy. It's also why although I love Steam, I buy from them as a last resort.

As far the connection issue, it itself doesnt bother me. It's the possible issues that may compound from it that frustrates me. Its the what-ifs. What if my cable goes down for a few days due to nature or whatever? Can't play my single player games let alone watch tv. Or, and this did happen to me, my connection starts out fine with Frontier Communications, but gets progressively worse over 6 months to where I'm receiving less the dialup, and stuck in a contract. Yeah, it's all first world problems, but hey, that's why I haven't moved to a different country. ;)
