Yes. I regret buying it.....So soon.

It was foolish and should have waited until the content came out to decide if I wanted it. I blindly bought in the "falling in love" phase with this game and now that the "honeymoon phase" is over, I need something to spice up the relationship so-to-speark. I thought the DLC would have hit sooner like in maybe one more week and I was really pumped for 1 on 1 and 2 or 2 arena stuff. I'll just have to be patient because I know it's going to be awesome.

I will just be mooching the free Fable 3, Assassin's creed 2, Halo 3, etc... downloads until the DLC hits. I want to hit EGO 2000 first though. I'm at 1950 and the last 50 are painfully so going.

This question will be easier to answer when the DLC comes out. If they manage to improve the game and make it fun then no I wouldn't. I already figured this would be one of the last current gen games I buy and most of the great games like Destiny won't be out till probably mid to end of 2014 so if this fills in the gap before then I would rather spend on something I know is pretty addicting even though it's been mostly drive from one Arkfall to another and wait for a Siege to start lately.

Oh well, the last whining oracle said this game would be dead by august... Good to see you're more optimistic.

100% yes. I could have put that money towards another game instead of having it tied up until "mid July". I usually go ahead and buy the season pass for games I feel strongly about at checkout. After Gears of War: Judgement and now this, I will now do what a smart consumer should do, and pass until I see if it's a good investment.

I am patiently waiting for the DLC to drop before I say I regret it.
I am anticipating some (lots of) server downtime. Quite possibly new/more bugs.

With that being expected Im actually going to grade it on the content we get not the application of/support of as the season pass is paying for that additional content.

Im pretty sure your season pass money has already been blown on overtime fixing bugs. Im not sure how theyre going to pay programmers to actually finish the dlc. Borderlands 2 did it right. They shopped out the first 3 DLCs so that players still got new content regardless of any snafu's that may have come up.

If Defiance can't live up to the DLC promises they have set with it then we have a legal problem.
I do recognize the fact that they promised 5 DLCs for the price of 4. They never have given a date for ANY of these DLCS. I could get shafted as DLC2 is some minor tweaks and additions compared to the first but it's still technically a DLC.

It really doesn't matter how the company has spent the money they have received thus far. They promised 5 DLCs for the price of 4. They have to meet that obligation only. No matter what the size of each is.

With that in mid I still have to wait to see if I regret it.

And this is where it gets tricky and where Trion has people bent over the barrel.

What is DLC? What constitutes DLC? What would a judge/arbitrator think 'reasonable' DLC is?

So Trion promised and is legally bound to give you five DLCs.

DLC #1: "Hey guys! Here is a new area, new cars, 8 new mobs, new dungeon, cash shop items, enjoy!"

DLC #2: "Hey guys! Here is some new cars skins (over the old cars), 5 new mobs, cash shop items, enjoy!"

DLC #3: "Hey guys! Here is some new reskins again, 3 new mobs, one 'adventure' event, and some more cash shop items, enjoy!"

DLC#4-5: "Hey guys! Game is now F2P, grats! Here is some new reskins, a 'Nightmare' dungeon (rehash of launch dungeon), some more cash shop items, enjoy!"

    Contract met.

It doesn't spell out WHAT is in the DLC, just that they have to provide you with DLC. That's why blind DLC buying is weetodded, unlike Lifetime subs, where as long as you play you get it all free, no matter what it is and how long they keep the game going.

It could be similar to that or alot less. Hell, if your Blizzard 15 dollars worth of DLC is a mystical space pegasus mount.
