Good things come to those who wait. (And bug-fill DLCs with pitiful content to those who do not)

Late July release is no issue as long as the contents are sufficient and more importantly, bug free. (I will hang them later if they still broke the game after given sufficient time.)

Can't regret buying DLC until they release DLC.

Exactly why I think it's laughable to buy season passes for unproven games. You looking at getting majority of the DLC after the release of next gen consoles as well as a huge MMORPG. This game's community is already laughably small. Imagine around Nov.

Almost all end game content requires purchasing individual dlc. Things in the auction house cost in the $200,000+ range. If you do not pay the subscription fee, you can only carry $2000 cash at once. No lvl 30 item is that cheap. You also have to purchase replay tickets to redo end game missions. Even with the subscription fee, you are only allotted 250 replay tickets, which isnt much at all. If you quit paying the subscription fee, it reverts back to the free content and all dlc items and forfeited. Also, without the subscription fee you are limited to 2 characters and have access to only 4 of the 8 powers. All basic costumes items are available at character creation, but the meaningful gear and best styles require dlc.

I realize their billing and access models have changed a lot over the games lifetime, but that is the current state of the game. I stopped playing when Defiance came out, but from roughly February to April, that was the model they were using.

You don't have to buy anything in the Auction house in DCUO, haha! That stuff sucks. The stuff they sell in there? It's poorly statted style stuff. It's not meant for raiding or PvP. You get that gear from doing the content.. totally free. The only reason you buy stuff from the auction house is to make SETS of gear for gear collections of a certain look. After you get those pieces and finish your set, you get another piece or a token for a real piece of armor to actually raid in.

No one uses weapons and armor from the auction house in DC Universe except noobs. You get your best gear from queing for all the PvP and doing the dungeons, which start at level 10. You get really good gear from each boss (rares) when you kill them in your story instances which you can do again if you don't get the rare you want (like Batman's belt, or Supergirl's boots, or Sinestro's gloves).

Now I'd love to talk more about DC Universe's free model (not really) but you're flat wrong.

As for Defiance this is not, as you kept saying, a Free To Play game. You cannot even 'trial' this game. If you don't open the wallet, you don't getta the game. I have no idea why you think this game is free to play.

Nah, Im gonna stick around.. like I said Activion's Destiny is coming.. I also think EA might do Mass Effect MMO, (EA always been more sci-fi and go from SWTOR to Mass Effect sounds kinda logical next step..) so theres going to be huge sci-fi boom in the future and Trion is gonna get a slice of that. Besides, they brought tons tons of stuff to Rift, so why not here too.
