Increase stick sensitivity and follow them while they hop or aim higher and let them hop into headshots.
I'll admit, they're a pain, but a viable tactic. I would like to see bio "ground" a person as a help though.
Bionova's and bio nano are the answer to this, but yes it is still annoying and I wish their was some kind of a cool down. The BMG bunny hoppers are the annoying ones. I think auto aim weapons should not auto aim when bunny hopping (basically whilst being in midair)
BMGs have issues with electricity...turns the gun off for some reason. Definitely can't heal when electrocuted. Don't think you can dps either. Kinda makes flash bang grenades have a (albeit very small) purpose/niche.
BMG hoppers are just kind of a nuisance. They're not going to burst you down so you can take a little extra time to line up clean shots. If they're dpsing they'll go down faster than you. If they're healing they typically only survive with some form of speed boost to get away while you're missing a lot.
Personally I like the jumping. Well timed jumps/rolls are a "skill based" means of increasing time to kill as it lets the target try to mitigate dmg by avoiding it. If we're gonna start talking about putting a cool down on jumping your better damn well include rolling too. I won't even bother explaining why that's a stupid idea...but I guess it would be funny to see everyone eating all the fire.
Aim better. Hell, get with a friend and practice shooting him/her while jumping around. Get comfortable watching how the trajectory looks. Get comfortable where the head is coming down from a jump. Jumping is not nearly as responsive (and therefore more predictable) than keeping your feet on the ground. Once you get used to shooting at hoppers you just might find them easier to drop.
pssst, you can thank the xbox generation for bringing the silly *****hatery that is bunny hopping to all shooters....
when they get old enough to stop chewing on crayons the halo kids will hopefully see the merit and challenge of tactical play, and hopefully we will see games with severe recourse for dying to disuade the respawn infants..
Actually... bunny hopping was rather rampant in SOCOM US Navy SEALS during and after the PS2 Network Beta Trials, I blame Frogger personally.
In Defiance PvP bunny hopping is a very effective tactic, especially vs a shotgun user or someone dropping grenades at your feet, in the same way that zig-zagging towards or away from your machinegun wielding opponent is a very effective tactic if you're using a shotgun.
I use a Cerberus, personally, puts and end to most hoppers.
lawl.. only a fool would be caught dead bunny hopping in socom.. you did not want to be seen, as you live only once. exposing more of your body gets you killed much faster. socom also used a very realistic cone of error for it's weapons, the more you put center mass in front of somebody else's weapon, the more likely you will be in a ghost channel.
no.. I still would like some games to include some stamina limitations... something to discourage the lepus syndrome of the halo kids.. also.. making it so that different stances like crouch or prone position honestly functioned as they should, instead of simply making it easier to get head shot...
I remember bunny hopping being rampant in many a game back in the heyday but I wish they had a stamina bar for multiplayer because jumping around is moronic but on the upside at least you don't have to worry about stabbing someone with many bullets and then having them do the COD instakill knife or the awesome kill switch back attack like Halo. I mean they don't even need to add a stamina bar to the current stuff they could just make a hardcore mode that has it.
