I haven't stepped into PvP mainly because I get tired of getting shot from some unknown direction (ala PlanetSide 2), and this issue is made worse by the fact that the game's draw distance compared to real life is about the range of an airsoft pistol with near empty CO2 canister, or one of the cheap spring ones. A pistol in real life can fire its slug out to 100 meters or more (not terribly accurately, but still). The game barely does 40, if even. I'm a terrible judge of distance in real life and it's worse in a scaled game world.

    No, no, no, and no.

Until and unless Trion fixes this game to accurately reflect who actually makes a kill or does whatever then assessing rewards based upon the leaderboards will make me run from a game I actually love playing.

Anyone who looks at the leaderboard and thinks they're hot stuff because they are at the top is fooling themselves. None of the leaderboards are ever accurate.

To be honest, I'm not the best player in the game-far from it. But, I've topped the scoreboard on the winning team in PvP when I knew I didn't deserve to be there. But, I've also been credited with 0 kills when I know I got 6. I've played some matches where all I've gotten are lots of assists, and then been credited with 1. I've played matches where I was dumped in right before it ended and gotten credit for 2 kills that I didn't get. I've been killed by teammates-who knows who got credit for those kills of me. The game said a teammate killed me (no, not from an exploding barrel or anything like that).

At arkfalls, I've come in first place when I've only been there for the last few moments of a major one. It rarely correctly states revives/kills at arkfalls. The person that does the most work at an arkfall may also not end up being in first place. I know because again I've gotten top billing for only making 1 kill-sure, it apparently was the boss (Hellion), but one time I didn't get the killshot and still came in first. At other times, I've focused on killing the boss (Hellion or Matron) almost exclusively, participated in most of the minor arkfalls in a major as well as the boss area, and didn't even get on the leaderboard.

And coop has the same issues.

The point is they shouldn't even consider tying rewards to first, second, third place in this game because it cannot do simple math. I read where one of the Community Managers here thinks it would be a great idea to have tournaments based upon the best players in PvP and I think that's ridiculous as well. As I said, I'm not the best so even if they fix this I wouldn't be in on those tourneys, but with a very broken PvP and leaderboard I think it's pointless to try and do tournaments to decide who is the best of the best. At this point, it's about who can best exploit the system, use OP weapons, take advantage of weaknesses in the coding, and be lucky enough to get kills made by other players credited to them. Good idea.

True and use a sniper rifle and you have certain limitations-bolt action ones deal more damage but take longer to get off repeated shots, repeaters require multiple hits per kill and accuracy drops with distance. And that's if you can see the person you're shooting at. And, shooting leaves you vulnerable. I know because I've killed plenty snipers in Freight Yard. Use an Immunizer and forget about all that-it will take care of everything.

Indra, do you play on NA PC? I played FY from 10-1 Eastern last night and wondering if we were in the same matches. There is a premade or certain players that were grouped up that dominated the matches, and the chat on my team of randoms were making some comments.

Totally agree with this..I use semi-auto sniper and infectors typically are a big problem. But I still play and enjoy so not calling for a nerf. They could tweek some weapons like semi-auto snipes. I do get kills with it, but my AR is way more effective.

The general point behind this post is that you play and get top billing for little to no work as well as working your ganchi off. However, I've done the same, where I've soloed 3 crystals (destructions) and was very active on the Monarchs and Hellions on an Arkfall and did 5 million damage. While on the other hand, I played half-ganchi, received top billing, but only did 2 million total. It seems to count up the damage pretty accurately to me. I started a thread specifically about this, and come to find out, there's a fair population of people who only do one crystal and move on to another Arkfall. They said they receive the same rewards (5 keys, 5000 xp, ~200? Scrip, and T2 Lockbox). Basically it seems like no matter what you do, if you stick around to the end of the Arkfall and do every crystal, you'll be top 5 for sure.

It would have to be a lot more fun and the basics would have to function a lot better. Even then, I'd probably play a dedicated PvP game that offers a similar experience with better quality. When the rendering problems are so bad that I get run over by someone on an ATV that never even shows up on my screen, the quality is so poor that I'm not willing to spend my gaming time on it.

There's one thing that's damn sure, though, is that nerfing weapons in PvE in order to pander to PvP players makes me less likely to play PvP, not more likely.

Nothing. Honestly I wish they would cut PvP out and concentrate on what this game was meant to be- Co-Op

To kind of expand on this point, and basically go off on a tangent: I can understand competitive multiplayer, but Shadow War doesn't make sense from the lore we get from the show. While there is vast racism and bigotry in the post-Arkfall world, it doesn't seem to me like there's really enough reason for any of the 7 races (excluding the Volge, though there isn't much information to go on for them) to go to war over anything. And that brings me back on topic. The PvP in this game seems to be an afterthought, meant to cater to people who prefer to PvP, while the game was meant to deepen the story and provide immersion into the Defiance universe for the solo gamer. Vastly making changes to the gameplay mechanics I've gotten used to as primarily a soloer to pander to the PvPers just simply doesn't make sense.
