After a 6 hour wait this is what I got at 2am:
[01:18:23 AM] GM Jaradus: Ok, thank you for your patience. i do see that there were account linked to your account, and I have verified this is currently a known issue. Once the issue has been resolved, your account is already set to receive the rewards.
[01:19:36 AM] C H : Perfect. So will my recruit a friend be updated as well? I have some co-workers I am attempting to recruit and want to make sure I get credit for when they pick the game up

[01:21:42 AM] GM Jaradus: Unfortunately, no. I know they have been working on the issue, and should have a fix soon.

Why promote a program that does not work!!!???
this is laughable.
talk about throwing it in the player-base's face, recruit friends to play a game that is half broken using a system that is also broken.
No way i'm recruiting until this is fixed and working correctly.
When it was first released there was a problem with it and they shut it down without telling anyone, lot of players kept getting a page error. I think it was due to some people exploiting the system to gain stuff, I am not surprised there are now issues again with it.
The fb link on the right side of recruit a friend page is broken and not working for me. I'm a little embarrassed that it's not working and I was going to link it.
Personally I find it hilarious that Sledge removed all the posts from the official recruiting thread and locked it.
We're investigating things - if you play on a console make sure you have it linked!
The only player interested in my recruitment mail has bought the game few days ago because he find a special offer and cannot wait for the reopen of the recruit service.
So now it's the first time I'm in disappointment with trion,I made one person buy the game but I will not receive a reward.
