Suggestion: Remove or Drastically Shorten Night

Why? One simple reason for me at least, the game is more dynamic and fun to play in daylight. I don’t like the game world at night. I am over EGO 3000 so it’s not about difficulty, just the look and feel and fun of the game in daylight

I don’t worry about, “the game would not be realistic” argument because in any game like this we accept fantastical and unrealistic things all the time. How about keeping night but making it only making it 25% as long as the day cycle? Anyway for me I know I’d enjoy the game more without night and wouldn’t miss it at all.

Night is THE BEST time.....Day is boring and stale...they took away our rain and weather...AT LEAST give us more night....

I was hoping most people perferred day to night, since in the short time the thread is up the first two reply's perfer night, I guess we have to comprise and keep things unchanged... Dam I realy despise night in this game too!

I guess the next best thing I can do is crank up my gamma setting and wear sunglass when the game is at daytime.

Like the groovy plants in Island of Lost Soldiers that set you on fire! We need more of those in open world. Would make navigation more interesting.

If anything make it longer and WAY darker. Then give us NODs for IR and thermal vision modes.

I'd like to see Charlie come out at night also.

Seems like night is alot darker in Defiance than other games I have played, In Rift, the sky got dark, stars came out, but you could still see about the same. In other games I was fine if I just upped the brightness. Defiance in some spots visibility is a problem, things get lost in weeds, etc. However its really just mildly annoying for me, hasnt changed my play yet. Afterall I think everything I need to pay attention to has some feature that glows (99er eyes, glowing piles of loot, etc)

The day/night cycle seems very strange to me in-game, I can play for 4 hrs and see several nights (it seems, logged it scientificly), plus seems like it can be night "here" and the next county over is day. Just seems like odd choices by the Devs.

I can't say I want it changed, thats something they can leave alone.

If anything, I'd like to see the nights being darker. Seriously, I hardly even notice things going from night to day.

Some areas are more fun at night. I like sniping 99ers right between their little glowing eyes. Other areas are lit at night. I just wish it had more of an effect on the game, like making it harder for mobs without night vision to detect you.

As was already mentioned, night vision or thermal scopes would be fun. We know the code for thermal scopes is already in the game, because the cerberus has one on the rocket launcher.

i love the night ,the color come alive at night. arkfalls colors glow bright, anyway thats just me.

The only time I notice is when I'm doing a time trial and you can see the glow of the course goals

I prefer the daylight, means I don't have to get up to shut the curtains/blinds. Plus when it's nice outside I hate having them shut.

Agreed though that arkfalls look better at night!

They need to be adding immersion to this game, not removing it. Lowering or removing the night cycle is a terrible idea. How about they actually focus on delivering things they promised us, like dynamic weather?

I like the variety in general, and while there are are some missions or tasks I might prefer to wait for daylight, I'll play straight through several in-game days.

Scrapper A-falls are more fun at night. The sky is more interesting at night during the lead-up to any A-fall, but is normally quite good.

As was mentioned, the difference in visual dynamics of A-falls can be stunning when you first see them, they remain pretty good.

I just hate sniping into the sun at dawn, though I tend not to be a morning pony at the best of times.

Longer nights would rock, the game really shines.. First time I saw a raider with his flashlight and flouro shield.. So shiny..

More flowers that glow at night would rock.

It lasts like twelve minutes and the sky during an arkfall at night looks awesome.

It may not have the same "feel" as daylight but it adds variety, something this game needs more of.

I like night and day the way they have it. Just add some rain and thunderstorms here and there. Razor Rain!

Consider turning down your gamma.

I have it pretty low and dark is really quite scary.

Hell, I always gets ambushed at night and having some sweet night vision googles/scope wouldn't be a bad idea.

Now if only mob shooting proficiency also reduces due to lightning conditions, that will be perfect.

Seriously when the game first came out i was going to make a thread about how short compared to day the night felt... I want MORE NIGHT time... everything is so much cooler... and the game isnt necessarily to dark or even dark... but lights on and other effect are so cool... im guessing the OP needs new TV or turn up brightness and or gamma...and Trion extend night please... seriously isnt it shorter than day time?

weather would be. red dead redemption blows me away(yeah i still play it when i get the chance) whenever you're caught in a thunderstorm at night. darkness and then... BOOOOOM! lightning lights up the place. love that shtako.

The game was made for the manny not for the few...

Oh! I almost forgot the lights on the wind turbines. Love those, especially where there are a lot of them together. Also, boosting down the Top Notch bridge at night.

It would be cool if they had certain nocturnal enemies that become more active at night, as it is it seems like nights are rather short as it is. It is night time, it is supposed to be dark. It would be cool if we could equip night vision scopes or goggle for our player/vehicles though.

Ya I could of sworn I saw rain where you could actually see it hitting puddles in one of the trailers. It kinda sucks that you have to use SweetFX to unlock the games true potential.

That would be asking too much.
I think it would be great if it was here though.
It would also work great in conjunction with........weather changes.
For some reason weather never seems to change.

Ya for now they just need to fix the bugs and hurry up with that DLC and fix the bugs with it as well. But you can always hope and dream.
