I came to Trion straight out of the US Army. About a decade ago I played Age of Empires 2 professionally on the WCG brackets. I play defiance daily on both my personal account (hidden amongst all of you!) as well as hoping around on my work account - Myll_Erik on the PC servers.
I play a lot of games and spend time both learning new games as well as going back to old favorites. I'm a big RTS fan at heart, but I'm a big fan of games. :)

What video game background do you have?
I started as a GM for an MMO, and have worked my way up the ladder into Community.
How you came into being employed with Trion?
This one is kind of a funny story. I was a Senior GM for another company, and several of my friends there left for the greener pastures that is Trion. They sung the company many praises, so I put in my application. I interviewed and got a call about a half hour after to work out some details. I had to put off a trip to South Korea (my birth country-- I'm only half though, & an army brat! :) ) to get the job.
I was a Senior GM for a year and change for RIFT. I had sort of shifted out of my role as a pure GM and served as a bridge between Customer Service and developers. I was asked what it was I wanted to do when I 'grew up' -- basically, my path desired in the company. I wanted to be a developer, I thought, and so I shifted into QA for RIFT/misc.
A year after that, my current position opened up. I had experience in talking to players, I know the company well, and after a nerve-wracking interview (with Elrar and Overload!), I got the job.
How often do you play Defiance?
Not as often as I should! It feels like there's not enough hours in the day to do everything, especially with me being a shared resource between two games.
What are some of your gaming experiences like? (Defiance & other titles)
I've been playing games nearly my whole life. We had an old NES/SNES, and I've basically owned every major console since. I played a ton of Pokemon (every generation! Plus dorky spinoffs like Pokemon Puzzle League. Yes, the dork is strong with this one.) My first online game was Ragnarok Online, though I played some Starcraft, too. These days I enjoy RPGs, and have lately been playing the new Tomb Raider on PS3, Puzzle & Dragons on Android...and well, RIFT/Defiance on PC. :)
What's your gamer score?
I mostly play on PC, so, uhm, my Steam account is worth a few grand, does that count? (I have a problem. A shopping problem. But instead of shoes, I buy games. It's terrible!)
Do you play amongst us?
I do, absolutely. I play on a completely normal, no powers account, just like you or the other person!
Just basically anything you're willing to share?
Hi, my name is Morgana and I'm addicted to games, and am a chronic forum lurker. I have a cat named Bromine, who I just call Bro for short. There's a lot of "Y u mad, Bro?" that goes on in my house. I collect Hello Kitty and Silent Hill apparel in equal amounts (someone is getting me the exclusive alternate Pyramid Head statue from Comic Con!), and read a ton of webcomics (ask and ye shall receive recommendations!). I like reading but don't have the time to do as much of it as I want, and I have spammed your thread WAY TOO MUCH NOW so I am stopping now! :D

Oh yeah. You'd be surprised. Even the good ol XBLPET (Xbox Live Policy Enforcement Team) play on a regular basis both officially & discreetly. Bungie,Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Epic Games, 343, pro gamers etc etc. I'm sure to develop is an inner geek dream. Most have been gaming since the 80's. I'm very into tabletop gaming and I do writing for tabletop RPGs. I've helped organize events at conventions, and I haven't missed a GenCon in.... 9 years. In fact, i still have my badge from the year that RIFT was everywhere, including the lanyard. :)

Background:
I'm a little older then the rest I guess. I've been playing games since Pong in the arcades. Yes, pong and arcades when they were still around. I've owned as many systems as i could from the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Atari 800, and on. I guess it's fair to say I've been playing games my whole life. And not just video games. I've enjoyed pen and paper games as well as board games since forever.
I was a huge PC gamer for a long time and still am. I've sort of moved to consoles though as my primary since the PS2 and Xbox. Something about sitting on my couch and playing with a controller just appeals to me in my old age.
I've made games on the PC, PS2, PSP and now Defiance on the current gen consoles.
Defiance:
I've split my time between the PC (play with my brother) and Xbox since launch. I play on PS3 at work primarily though. So I guess I get to dabble in all three! I've finished the story line in the game on Xbox and PC (prior to launch). I play a ton but I guess the reason I haven't finished the story line since launch is all of you people. I just keep finding a ton of other things to do. Joining you all in Arkfalls and Sieges. Doing side missions and emergencies. Just a ton of stuff.
Gamerscore:
Bah, my Xbox is at a friends right now so I can't check. I don't typically go for Gamerscore points though so it probably isn't relevant anyways.
Other Stuff:
Working on Defiance has been one of the best experiences I've had in gaming by far. I've got to work on the game and work with Syfy on the television show. It's been a blast. The best thing by far though is seeing people play and enjoy the game. I love playing and watching what people do in the thing you have helped create. It always very exciting. You design something and think "This is probably how people are going to play this". Players totally, ALWAYS, surprise you and do things you never expected. Which is the awesome of this job.

Well, since this is my very first post I thought it'd be interesting to check out what the higher-ups of Trion Worlds are like...and it turns out I'm very satisfied. ^_^ it's refreshing to see the devs/gms and moderators interacting with the public in a way that you dont see in many other titles or game companies. So, from a gamer, thanks for walkin amongst the little people.

Qombat. That's pretty awesome that an actual Developer responded. What other titles have you helped Develop? And are you making any for the Xbox One? (A yes/no will be ok. I understand the no disclosure agreements.)
