best infector and bmg for leveling?
As title says, I don't want to be fully useless in a group but I need to level these... I can't think of which ones would be best.. currently using stingray and canker since I figured increased infection dmg would be more beneficial.

also when it comes to the canker, does upiing the dmg increase its infection dmg or would the bug dmg do that?

Answer: Canker and VOT Spanner (with -0.06 damage charge)

Stingray has too small a charge pool (or it just uses charges much more rapidly) and is not good for leveling.

Tele-spanner (with -0.06 damage charge) can last crazily long without charging, but hits only one person unless you also managed to get one with +1 max links.

By the way, the secondary links of BMG does not grant exp. ie, only hitting the main target does. I have tested it using the infinite spawning skitterlings at big stone reach and found it to be much slower than SQ hulker or Scraper Forgers when in theory it should had been faster.

I didn't know that about BMG links. I think you may have just saved me a ton of time leveling them.

The best way to level any weapon skill is with high rarity, high damage. High rarity because they take more damage to get their mastery, which means leveling fewer weapons. High damage because you will level the weapon quicker.

building on what you said about links then wouldn't it be more practical to use tele spanner since the extra link wouldn't help you?

This doesn't make any sense to me as weapon rarity seems to have very little to do with damage, but lower rarity is ceeper to reset. Myself I try to find one or two good greens w/ a helpful roll, mod 'em up and then just reset them as needed for leveling any weapon.

As said above, Canker and Tele-spanner.

I am not sure this is true. I think that the amout of damage (dps) you can do to say a forge's "eye" is just higher than even a few smaller mobs linked.

My recomendations: VOT Spanner or VBI Stingray with +links for multiple targets (i. e. leve as ou play). Tele-Spanner for single targets (i. e. using forges or the SQ hulker). For infectors I like Innoculators or Invaders, but I do know people who swear by the Canker.

That is correct. But also taking into account for the fact you want to be useful in the team, VOT spanner is better choice overall as it is a very good skitterling/scrapper dog killing weapon.

I have done coop missions (scrap yard, island of lost) that had me come out first (in damage dealed) while using VOT spanner and a SAW. You can still be effective even with a BMG as long as you aren't stupidly insistent on using it on opponents which are not suitable for it. (Example a single boss matron)

As for tele-spanner, it is most effective when grinding SQ hulker, but a lot less useful for everything else.
