where I am with Defiance right now.
Feel free to call me a sucker or a glutton for punishment....I'll wait.....done?
I love this game and I have been playing it almost daily since launch day.
HEY! I heard you over there! who said idiot! BVegas249? I'll deal with You later!
Nah, It couldn't have been him, I met him on this forum and became XBL friends and now we play Defiance together.
wait, Defiance did something " GOOD " right there, didn't it? I met a pretty darn cool guy and we blast the shtako out of hellbugs and whatever together and have fun doing it. together.
That is something right and good.
    I don't know, I don't get tired of it. I like it.
don't get me wrong, I really REALLY want something new to do because I have done the main story line three times and all of the side missions and all of the races and hotshots and rampages blat blat blat. I am working on the pursuits...It is funny that I have done all of that and only have an EGO rating of like 1610 or something.
I want more people to run with, too.
I see guys putting up their gamertags and I search for them and I find them sometimes and ask them into parties but they don't answer. if you want to play, let's play.
I am so ready for the DLC to come, I hope that We get a lot to do in it, the episodic content kind of leaves me hanging out to dry sometimes and I know from reading here that it really does that to everyone esle too.
I think that Trion is doing some things right. I am making friends and having a good time and isn't that what gaming is about, anyway?
I bought the season's pass and I want the DLC just as bad as any of the petulant screamers do but I am not going to post a message every other day with a totalitarian DEMAND that they put it out tomorrow or I take a "Great Wolenda" highwire dive onto the street below to show my displeasure. geez.
anyway, that is where I am with the game.
I am going to keep on playing - We have about what....3 weeks maybe? until the possibility of DLC? so I will keep on grinding because I want that Infiltrator Armor or whatever.
    see you In-World.

If enjoying the game means being in a minority or makes me a glutton for punishment then fine but like the OP i am also having quite a bit of fun with this game, meeting great people and generally running around picking fights with mutants. Fun times.

Maybe the source of my contentment or happiness is that i'm still new to Defiance (Ego 805) and probably a bit naive in just accepting that it has bugs and getting on with life. Maybe.
However i think the main reason is that unlike a lot of gamers, I'm actually not afraid to admit that i'm not a brilliant gamer, don't do well in games like Call of duty or other regular shooter games and so some of the episode missions are a challenge to me therefore not boring.
(Having a bit of trouble with Jackleg Joe right now but its still fun trying to complete this one)

THis is not a 'lets all stop moaning and have a group hug' type of post. People are entitled to their opinions and its the only way really that Trion might (heavy emphasis on 'might') listen to their customers and do something to fix issues but all i'm saying is that some of us newbie not so awesome complete every game in under 10hrs gamers find this game challenging and dare i say it.....fun.

    All good.

Likewise, as far as I'm concerned. Hit EGO 681 last night before I went to bed.

I've been playing DC Universe Online since the beta in late 2010, so I am all too familiar with how rough console MMOs can be from time to time. Difference being, I am still paying $10 a month for a Legendary DCUO subscription.

    don't get me wrong
I am not happy with the buggy stuff and I don't understand why things happen or why simple shtako doesn't get fixed in the updates or whatever.
I just don't sweat the small stuff and scream my head off over it. I don't see the sense in it, I know that the old saying is : "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and maybe yelling and holding my breath will get someone to fix something eventually but it just makes people look like a bunch of "tools" (in my opinion).
I did have a problem with a data recorder that I know that I collected but didn't show in a pursuit and I sent a ticket into the customer support desk and it taken care of in a timely fashion, Trion is on point with that kind of thing.
I love the game, I want to play the game and I want more GAME to PLAY.

I have read some really interesting things on the forum here:

Walk everywhere, It will make the game more immersive. I agree, It would. good idea. get to steppin'. I find I am walking more now anyway.

Give us more episodic content, you are alienating us and killing the game! I don't agree, sure I want more things to play and do, some "Bounty Hunter" stuff would be awesome but I don't think that Trion is "killing the game" by giving us episodes every two weeks. geez.

Tweak the servers and open up some of the dark areas on the map, give us something to do until the DLC drops. something to do? daily contracts and pursuits aren't good enough, I guess. I don't agree with "opening up the map". for what? to run around on new terrain with nothing to fight or do? hhhmmmm. Open it up when it has some new settlements or the academy or something there, that would rock.

I keep on doing the "Hellbug Extermination" rampage to get those 50000 kills and get that sexy armor.
only 21000 more kills to go....

I too am enjoying the game just as you guys above. I have been playing since the day the show started and am about to cross the bridge for the first time (I know some people will have something to say about that....but I don't feel I have to rush through the game). I did have a friend port me to San Fran so I could explore and check it out....so I go there often.

I have found so much to do by taking my time. I may do contracts for a while and then go to an Ark Fall....then maybe do a side mission or two, then go find a Hulker (which by the way I have had trouble finding lately). I keep myself busy...and if I get bored.....I turn the game off and do something else.....and then when I want to get back on.....I turn the game on.

I am really looking forward to the DLC (Hopefully I'll be past Nim by the time it comes out...again I'm not in a major rush to plow through the missions) and I am very glad for the information from the Dev regarding the scopes.....hope they continue to give us information like this.

Anyone can feel free to add me to XBL and hit me up any time I'm on.....I enjoy running around with people and just having fun.

Yes!! You miss so much by just buzzing past it. I'm am all for this and also not using the fast-travel as much.

Also not rushing through the game is making it more enjoyable as it seems the people who are unhappy are the ones who've completed the main storyline a few times. Fair enough like but chill out sometimes and take time to just explore and get yourself in the odd spot of bother with a wandering hulker.

Ah! the key to any any good game is to continue adding more people and then you have something special. My good friend BVegas249 said to try playing "Twister" by yourself. not so much fun. add some friends and some beverages and it gets a LOT more fun (of course I changed a lot of what HE said - it would get banned!) but he is absolutely correct. Defiance shines when you add your friends and start "hopping and popping" and "shooting and looting".
I was talking to a friend earlier on XBL who blasted his way through the game in about two and a half weeks and took it out of his Xbox. As a result, he MISSED the Seiges, all of the Infected stuff, He missed the Manhunt stuff, the episodic content with Rinn and all of the bonus weekends and Dodge High-speed Challenges and other things that we have had. I hate it for him, I really do.

We may or may not notice, but things are changing in our game. if you don't look around, you will miss something like he did.
I approached this game like eating an elephant, (this is a metaphor!!!) one small bite at a time, you will get there eventually.
Shadow Andreas hit it right on the head - just taking my time made the game last for me and as a result I am still playing it daily and not all burned out like my friend who missed all of the content that we got to enjoy.
