Is there enough people to make it MMO-worthy?
    Guys,

I played around with the PC and XBox betas and while I understand the graphics lack the appeal of the PC, I was more interested in going XBox on this one. My concern, and mind you I only gave the beta a limited amount of play, is it going to be worthy of actually being an MMO? I fear buying the game, liking it and finding out that the community simply decides to play solo through much of it. How do you guys that made it further along feel?

I'm extremely worried about the community of the Xbox 360 world. Just 20 minutes ago I was doing side missions and I noticed a fellow player was doing the same exact ones I was and we were kinda watching each other's backs as we both had to go to the same areas and interact with the same exact things. So being the nice guy I am I talk to them in shout and ask them if they would like to group up to make it official. No response. Send group invite. No response. But still running around shooting things. It feels like a majority of the players feel like taking on this brand new frontier all alone.

I don't think he means the size of the population but the attitude of the population.

Just had a fun arkfall with a good +45 people. We were in the shadow war, and it ended next to a mini arkfall. 20 minutes later we are facing down arkfall boss for a solid 12 minutes of constant barrage of fire from everyone... 5 monarch showed up at least lol.

I have a silent bond with most of the people I meet. Usually we don't group up, but we just team up and know what to do. This is probably due to the lack of proximity chat in the beta.

well believe it or not some people were talking in the typed chat pane, but voice? I haven't had it working since beta started. (Tested with friends too, 360 party chat is far superior at this point until release.)

In game chat is disabled in the beta. (On the 360 at least) So that is why people are not talking. And somebody might not know how to accept an invite maybe?

He's got a point. Out of the hundreds of players I've joined in random side missions or arkfalls, I've seen a whole two say even just one phrase. It seems more like an massive single player online game than multiplayer. Other people are essentially A.I. who actually do something useful more often instead of once in a blue moon.
