Some retailers are dropping the ball on Preorder

I have noticed after browsing through the sites who are offering preorders that some of them are really slacking on bonus content info.

for example, sites like Gamefly & Best Buy completely leave out details on what exclusive bonus content they might or might not be offering for choosing their site to preorder from.

The only retailers that seem to actively advertising preorder information are Steam & Gamestop. Which even though I like the infector weapon, I refuse to give Gamestop any of my hard-earned money so I will most likely be ordering through Steam.

I have been going with the assumption that regardless of what kind of information the various retailers are providing, all pre-order codes provide what is shown here:

This is not the case i contact support for this and it turns out that...

During the pre-order period of a new game, 3rd party retailers often run special promotions for items or weapons. These promotions vary between retailers, and do not cross between them. The bonuses you've listed, with the exception of the "Sporeshot" gun and the Red Dodge Challenger, are bonuses included for those pre-ordering Defiance directly from Trion Worlds. The "Sporeshot gun" is Gamestop Exclusive, and the Red Dodge Challenger is included with pre-orders from both Gamestop and Trion Worlds.

My question:

So the question is will i receive all of this:

Guaranteed BETA invite
OUTLANDER outfit
“Justice” Weapon*
3 day XP boost

or just the exclusive weapon?

I would say just the weapon and the dodge. If it isn't listed. you are better off getting it on steam. Almost to the first reward, even more bonus. Steam weapon is the sniper rifle.

All preorders have the same bonus.
The retailers change the weapon to a different bonus, the rest of the bonuses remain the same regardless of where you preorder it. Steam is the only retailer that is actually offering more than the regular bonus, assuming the tier gets unlocked. The other retailers only mention the gun because that's what they offer that's different. The other items stay the same.

Amazon gives you The Plague Bringer sniper rifle.
Steam gives you a Phoenix sniper rifle.
Gamestop gives you the Sporeshot infector.
Gamefly gives you the Legion weapon (not sure what it is)
Trion gives you the Justice weapon
Bestbuy gives you Magforce
Walmart gives the Volter.

(these are clearly listed on the sites)

The only one that actually dropped the ball is target because their preorder makes no mention of any bonus.

Went with Amazon for the Plague Bringer because of the name lol, At higher levels I am sure I will find a much better weapon that uses mods.
I do not think any of the pre order weapons use mods

Went with amazon because I had gift cards, haha. Otherwise I would've went with steam.

IMO, you shouldn't base where to buy on the look of their exclusive weapon. You will have replaced that weapon in a few hours anyway. Base your decision on which site will give you the best service.

If I went with Gamestop for example, it wouldn't be because of the loo, but because I enjoy the infector type weapon. It wasn't until a couple days into the beta before I found one last time and who knows what the drop rate will be after launch for unique weapon types.

Though I should make it clear I will most likely preorder through Steam, in hopes the truck reward is unlocked. I saw nowhere in beta where to buy a truck in-game.
