Community Data Recorder Help - Brought To You By Clan Freemasons

Hello everyone, Shwartz here again from Clan Freemasons. Next Saturday (July 6th) at 6:00 PM Central we will be hosting another community event that is available to all Xbox 360 North American Server players. All are encouraged to join in on the social activity, regardless of ego or clan affiliation.

You can see our official Community Events page HERE.

This week (Saturday) we will be running players through getting all non co-op data recorders in the game. If you or anyone you know wants to join in, feel free to meet up with us on Saturday. We ask that all players who would like to join in this event, please post your gamertag, ego rating, and clan affiliation in this thread.

This event is free to any players; the purpose of this event is to promote the MMO and social aspects of the game. All of the official details are below:

    1. Opt in using this thread by simply posting your gamertag, ego rating, and clan affiliation.
    2. Meet up with Shwartz (instruction on how to do that below) at the Muir Processing plant no later than 6:00 PM Central.
    3. Follow the instructions via game chat as to how you will be grouped up to go through the game for the recorders.

    Rules:

    1. Do not disrespect any other players in the event. There will be no trash talking other players in the game and you can be removed from the event if you do so.
    2. Make sure you have something that will allow you to hear other players talking so you can know where to get the recorders and hear instructions from your groups guide.
    3. Once you have been assigned a group guide, you must accept their party invite within a timely manner. If you do not accept the invite on the third attempt, you simply will not get grouped with anyone.
    4. Make sure to HAVE FUN! The purpose of this event is to promote the MMO aspects of the game and get everyone involved. Pick up some new friends or just chat with fellow Ark Hunters.

    Disclaimer:

    1. We have no control over the stability of the server. If you do get kicked from the game for any reason, your group leader will wait a reasonable amount of time for you to get back into the game, but if you are gone for more than 5 minutes, we do not want to take up everyone else's time and will continue.
    2. We will begin grouping at 6:00 PM central. If you are not here at that time, we cannot guarantee that a guide will still be there to group up with. Make sure you are there on time.
    3. We have the right to remove any player from our groups if it becomes obvious that a player is attempting to hinder or "troll" the event.
    4. Each guide will go through every data recorder in the game in order. You are free to leave at any time, but please do not request to have the recorders gathered in a different order.

    The Process:

    1. You will show up at the designated area (Muir Processing). Make sure you have opted into this thread beforehand.
    2. You will be assigned a "guide". Each guide will take 7 players through the entire game for data recorders. When you are assigned a guide, they will send you an Xbox party invite and as soon as all 7 players are in the party, they will leave to start getting recorders.
    3. You will friend request your guide in case you lag out of the game or get lost. This is so you can fast travel to your guide.
    4. If you guide lags out of the game, just wait where you are and they will come back.
    5. Your guide will take your through every recorder in the game.

    How to get to us:

    1. Press right on the d-pad and choose the "Find Player" option.
    2. Manually search for "Shwartz".
    3. Select the option to "View Gamertag/Profile" and choose "Join Session in Progress". This will put you in our phase. Sometimes the option does not always come up to "Join Session in Progress"; if this happens, simply press B to back out of our gamertag, then view it again. You may need to do it a couple times for this option to show up if it doesn't the first time.
    4. Sometimes a bug will occur where the "You are now in the same world as your friend" message will get stuck on your screen when you do step 3. If this occurs, simply press right on the d-pad, go to nearby/friends, then press right on the d-pad again to "Inspect" (you won't see the Inspect option because it will be covered with the message stuck on the screen so just keep pressing right on the d-pad). When this screen comes up to inspect, your screen will do something a little odd and you should now be able to press "Start" to bring up your inventory screen (you may need to press start a few times). Press start again to close out the inventory screen. Alternatively, you can view a vendor and that will remove it as well.
    5. Fast travel to the Muir Processing Plant and look for other contestants. You should be able to find "Shwartz" in the nearby, but you should also see a lot of Freemasons. Jump into area chat and feel free to talk to other players, but please keep the channel clear when we need to answer questions or explain the rules.

    To Close:

Make sure to tell your friends and look out for any future Freemason events via the Defiance forums or our website at fm3arkhunters.com. We hope to see many people sign up; see all of you in game!

If you have any questions, feel free to post them in this thread and I'll make sure to get them answered.

Official Opt Ins (Gamertags - Ego - Clan):

    1. N3gative Cr33p - 788 - ?
    2. Rave001 - 590 - NA

You should do one of these for co-op instances. Good idea, though.

We're actually planning on doing that the week after this one. We'll be putting the info up for that next weekend.

Appreciate the feedback Doggy, that's actually a pretty good idea! We'll look into trying to find a way to make this work with a large group. Are you going to be coming to this event?

While there are many places to get the data recorders locations online, the goal of this event is to highlight the social aspects of the game and allow players to socialize while they collect recorders rather than do it solo. Thanks for the link though.
