Yes, but you cannot equip every ego power and perk at the same time. So his statement is true, each ego power is essentially a class. With the loadouts, you can quickly change between them without having to respec or make a new character.
The archetypes at the start give you a specific look and weapon loadout(a german cm said they had more significance, but they could've been mistaken), and then the first ego power you pick will essentially be your starting class because if you actually look at the perks, there's clear case of the holy trinity and a section for stealthy characters.

With separation and segregation you run into balance issues. Its better and easier to keep everyone equal. Or you hit the nightmare of balance and the nerf twig comes and starts ruining the game.
I would rather feel like i can play the game as who ever i please and not have regrets than have to make a character of each race just so i have a counter to Rock, Paper, Scissors.

I would not object to there being a handful of bonuses or differences between the races. However, I'm far more interested in being able to play the rest of the Votan races, besides Irathient. Providing a variety of perks for varying races is a great way to increase depth, especially if it is done in a way that doesn't lead to combat-based min-maxing, such as certain races starting with say... higher faction ratings with certain elements than others etc. Many innate racial bonuses in MMOs aren't imbalancing, even when they do concern combat.
I do feel that one's background should have more depth than simply the starting visual skin and weapon one is given, as well. This could easily be done to ensure no imbalance, by simply giving preference to certain elements that would be affected by the background. For instance, Machinists could start with additional skill progression in certain weapon/vehicle types, and start with increased reputation with certain factions in frontier towns etc....
It doesn't need to be anything to cause game imbalance, but it seems like a waste not to include some variety into races and background.
why would you want to spoil the movie.. stop crying about add traits.. maybe once the movies show use what we need to know we might get them in game..
So long as they could balance them I don't see a problem but really all I need is more cosmetic options and not having to wait to play as my desired race. I'd pay to be able to make the character I truly want at launch.
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

This is pointless, it isnt that kinda game.
There should be some reason we need to make alts imo other then to store loot and crap on we want to save (if there is even a reason to do that) Because other then that there is no reason to have more then one character.....ever so WHY down the road say in a year with even more content and progression would i EVER want to start over just to make a new race that will be covered in armor ?
