If there is no "Classes" + Full Respec why do we need more than 1 Character?

I'm not complaining but other than cosmetic look what reason would I ever have for making a new character if I can just respec my skills at any time and if I really want to use a different weapon I still can because the per weapon level increases wont make or break anything.

What do you guys think about this, will it lead to the starting areas being empty shortly after launch?

Highly doubt the starting area will ever become empty due to stuff like contracts, arkfalls and challenges.

Also I think people high overestimate just how big the game world will be at launch, judging by pursuits we've already seen atleast one third of the current game world.

You want additional load outs other than the first four?
You want to play with a buddy who just started?
New starter zones in a DLC?
    Future DLC customizations options?
You want to look at a female rear inside a guy? Or vice versa.
Or maybe you have a character and your brother who lives with you has a character, and your sister has a character cause you all share an Xbox?

    I dunno lots of reasons.

Those really aren't legitimate reasons you would make a second character like most MMO or multiplayer games though, those are all very situational.

I played WoW for over 7 years, I've made new toons just cause I wanted to help new players. I've made new toons just to play with in general.

Besides to me if you play a character up using an LMG and Shotguns, and then you get a load out rolling with a Rocket launcher or BMG, would you want to I dunno start playing with Assault rifles at weapon level 1 in the middle of San Fran? Or would you want to make a new character and level that skill up as you play raising your EGO ranking and possibly trying out new time trials or hotspots you skipped with the first character trying to mad bash to the golden 5000 EGO Rating ring...

Did we forget these games were suppose to be fun?

No classes,no race differences and no equipment restrictions because of that means all the fun and different play styles can be done on one character. The fact that you don't have a major difference between high and low levels (unlike the mmorpgs) means you don't need to make a new char' to play with newbies.Only real reasons i can think of is,as mentioned, cosmetic or you have done everything and want to start again while waiting for DLC.I could see the serious roleplayers maybe having a set singular loadout on multiple characters for each char's story or personalty.

Only reason i was planning on making an alt was to stick one on the US server but that ain't needed now.

Edit: This is just my opinion by the way,i am in noway saying that others shouldn't make alt's just because i see no point in it (each to there own).
    Happy Hunting!

    Thanks for the complement
I can honestly remember making two dozen toons on WoW alone.
Getting one char to 5000 on Defiance? That's like trying to do every single WoW achievement on one toon lol.

Dont know if this has been put out there or even brought up but has it been said that you will be able to respec your character whenever you want?
