Noticed a couple new things today?

Anyone know if the text chat is disabled in the beta or is there just nobody using it? I've tried to communicate with some randoms in area and in groups and no one ever responds.

its not disabled, make sure u use area chat. or when in a group to put chat on group with the down d-pad

Yea, I made sure I was in the correct chat when using it. I'll just chalk it up to people probably not having a keyboard or chatpad plugged in and too lazy to use the onscreen keyboard.

yeah for some its hard to stretch their thumbs from the sticks to a button.

Don't you think that'll get a little too fast paced and crowded with hundred of people trying to communicate with each other all the at the same time? I doubt this will be a feature. Personally, I'm happy with the way things not, or rather the way things will be once everything's activated in the full game.

2 reasons I think it would be ok. One...not many people use it, so out of 500 players, about 20 are all that might talk. Secondly, I would only expect for people away from action to really be actively chatting, like when standing around a safe zone.

I think of times that I'm at an area and want to send out a request to anyone available, to maybe come to this area and provide some help...but I can only talk to who's already around. It'd be cool to see a help message from somewhere across the map...and be like..i'm on the way!

Other good things is the game supports USB keyboards...I personally love my chat pad.

Chat pad works great for me! Just hope they fix the way it works when trying to type.
