I see on the ps3 trade forums everyone just posts their oranges but don't say the damage in it.. I'm confused wouldn't it make sense to buy a weapon with the mods and with good damage as well. I'm only 245 ego but my best weapon is a white with 404 dmg (106 ego rating) no mods in it and it beats all my other weapons I have a few epics too.. i'm confused.. someone plz fill me in..
Because whites through oranges of the same weapon have the same base damage.
Edit: To clarify, when viewing a weapon in your inventory, it also adds in your weapon skill modifiers and any damage rolls your weapon may have.

It's not just dmg that matters, other factors such as fire rate, reload speed, etc are all taken into account. Take sawed off SGs for example. Huge dmg numbers, but single shot and has a slow reload.
As others said, weapon stats stay the same pretty much, so what matters the most are the rolls (bonuses). On top of that, people at different weapon skill levels will see different stats (dmg, reload, etc) so what one person posts may not be accurate for the next.
The crappy thing about this game is there is no difference in classes, If i have a SKILL level of 20 in assault rifles, i am gonna do the same damage as the next guy... there is no variety as in a true MMO, We should all have different skills, classes, stats, etc.... this makes the game repetative and boring..... in my opinion.....
