I have a rebel regen 4 EX, 75% regen, often it actually resesses me which was a surprise the 1st few times.

If I see a burnt out car in front of me on road, i go bush now days.

Here's a suggestion. If you don't belong to a clan, at an arkfall or at some place where people are grouped ask if people want to go Volge hunting and form a caravan. Look out for each other with someone distracting the Volge if someone needs reviving.

If you are alone, look for the emergencies with "helper items"-the rocket launchers or the turrets and/or the NPCs. Revive the NPCs so they will distract the Volge. Lure the Volge in front of the turrets and not to areas where the turrets are blocked.

I could say equip the right weapons but it's a lot about tactics and less about weapons. I will say if you have the Infector Grenade USE IT. The bugs distract them and do decent damage to them-their shields. Use cover. It's best not to start shooting if you don't have good cover or if you cannot reasonably take down a couple of the first ones before dying. Cloak is not that good-they are better at detecting you when cloaked than Dark Matter is.

Lateral moves often but don't always work far better than anything else, especially with Bombers (large lateral AOE though) and the Viscera (but he can change direction). Anticipate their moves.

Why I say weapons aren't the main thing-I've defeated them with BMGs, Bolters, Infectors, Flare Guns, SAWS, Wolfhounds, semi auto snipers, detonators, clustershots, couriers, and so on, some more easily than others. For instance a syphon SAW with overcharge (ammo and damage perks) and a back up flare or infector and the infector grenade work the best but don't always save my behind. I still have to use cover effectively, be careful to drag multiple Volges around the same side of that cover (so they can't flank me), and use my main and back up attacks effectively. And I try to never shoot at the Viscera for too long.

Try for the criticals. With a BMG hitting a Viscera in the face does about ten times the damage as any other spot. Bombers have hit spots on their backs and so on.

I've done a lot of solo and team volge hunting and I still get caught by them, but I can increase my chances by using these tactics. Another thing is to mark the location of the emergency so you don't lose drops you already earned and can easily find them if you die-before attempting to attack the volge.

I'm on PS3 and I went on the Death March with 3rd World tactics and it was so easy. There were 25 or so of us just marching a path and destroying everything. We took out Volge emergencies in under a minute. We melee'd a whole emergency and beat them without anyone dying in a minute or so. This game needs seriously fixed in the enemy scaling. I fight 3 Volge in one round by myself, so when you have 25 people, there should be 20 Volge or more. The amount of Volge barely went up...they just had more HP. When 25 Ark Hunters can melee a whole Volge emergency without dying at all, the Dev team needs to wake up and fix that crap. I had a blast, but I can't imagine how much better the Death March would be if we had to fight 20 Volge at once in the emergencies. All out war! lol

Thanks buddy. You convinced me to drop defiance and try out Crysis 3 for a while. Hey, maybe the Crytek people will give you some kind of bonus, though I imagine the Trion folks would prefer that you be nicer to others

Not getting involved in this but Crysis 3 is AWESOME!!!! Teh graphics are amazing and I love the gameplay <3

As for the volge I have the render issue they just boom appear and car crashes sometimes I can see them from the distance and slow down in time, working on sniper levels is good. The times when they do not render is a pain in the butt. I also miss the monarch emergencies and scrappers not seen any others for a while.

That was the result of whiners crying about people driving around Arkfalls. That's what happens when you cry about something without thinking about the consequences.

To be completely fair, rebuilding all the vehicles out of tissue paper was a pretty piss poor solution. If I was a dev looking to stop people from driving around an arkfall I'd have just spread a bit of that debris around so you couldn't drive in a circle around it anymore. Plus, it would be a more interesting battle with all the cover for both players and enemies. But then I tend to be biased against nerfing in any way...
