It's ok to be carebear. Being scared of competition with real players as opposed to a mindless AI is normal for some people. But it doesn't mean PvP should have to suck for those of us who do enjoy it.

If you want 'competition' and a challenge, go and play ARMA. There's nothing remotely difficult at all about this. That said not everyone is the same, but to say that there's real competition in Defiance PvP.. This game is mainly focused and centered around PvE, PvP as it stands right now is nothing more than a mere novelty. The only purpose it serves at this moment in time is to complete those pursuits and if you're a console player to gain achievements; that is it, there's nothing else other than that.

I saw people making a group for doing the volge, getting all the people they can for it. Then later, seen 4 people practically solo it. I guess its fun to be over powered for an event that can be done with only a few people.
Careful, you might loose this fight, Anne Frankly why does everybody have to bring up the Nazis?

That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.

FYI, I think there is more people playing then everyone realizes.

Ever notice that whenever you group up for anything and then do a co-op or pvp at the end of it, everyone seems to spawn in the same area but on different servers? Meaning you always have too click go to friend to continue with your group.

Same with if you try too get a clan together, once you hit 10+ together, everyone starts getting time outs and disconnects.

Shadow Wars are the same thing, once you get enough people together too play one, bring on the lag and disconnects. For this reason, many people won't play them. Until they fix issues like this, no matter what the population, they will never become popular.

I also think the min number of players needed for a shadow war should be lowered, but the max can stay the same.

I think Shadow Wars should take place on a separate shard away from all the barneys, with reduced emergency count, and no arkfalls in its vicinity. We already have enough load issues, draw distance is bad etc...

If you want people to PvP you have to make it lucrative AND make it balanced, as it is aiming is a detriment to winning in this "skill" based game. Not exactly fun or competitive.

There's the possibility for the developers to move the locations for shadow wars to areas that are away from the events and what have you that you mentioned. What is that possibility? Well, when they start to expand the world map beyond the boundaries that we're currently limited to they could design one or two deserted areas for shadow wars to take place in. Whether or not they would do such a thing is yet to be seen though, it would help spread everything out I reckon - but only when the game world has been expanded in the DLCs after the first one.

The best way to reduce queues is to display the number of players needed for next games in the Matchmaking Menu (not the quick one, I'm talking about the one you access via the F7 key).
Too bad, it had such a great potential.

And still find-able on Steam. Currently dead on Origin.

I gave up on PvP a few weeks back. Too much Immunizer, Cloak, and Shotgun abuse. It's just not a fun PvP environment. So I play PvE in Defiance and PvP elsewhere.

    This.

The 47th Legion recently had to expand a platoon from four to six squads, we're getting 3-6 apps per day; we're busier now than we were at and shortly after launch.

I see more players than I ever have at quick travel points, tons roaming the game world, et cetera. PC population is very healthy.
