Liberata, hands down! They strike me as one of the most interesting races. A once extremely powerful civilization whose own greed knocked them from their throne... now they exist as humbled servants trying to atone.
Plus they're space dwarves. Awesome.

Also, I used to recruit for the Anarcho-Syndicalist Revolutionary Union <ASRU Ark Hunters> (on 360 NA), but no one was interested, and I don't know if I'll ever bother playing again.
Castithian first, then Volge.
Like mentioned above, I saw Jaime Murray in her full make-up when they were shooting the show and knew immediately I wanted to play a Castithian. With the way the world has become, I have a feeling that there were plenty of Castithians who wanted to break free from traditional roles and caste system. So, it doesn't seem strange to me that there would be Castithian ark hunters.
Sensoth since there is little known about their culture. Liberata and Indogene would have no reason (according to lore) to be Ark Hunters and since most of the Castithans that came were of the higher castes they too would probably not be a likely candidate for Ark Hunting since they are more diplomacy, politics and what not. The Volge, from what I can gather, appear to be the main villains of the IP. Not sure about Gulanee as I haven't seen one nor have I seen anything on the race itself.
(I would be okay with any of the races being playable as long as they can make it fit into the lore of the IP on both ends without it seeming forced)
Colour me different, but I would enjoy Indogene. >.< They seem to be the SANEST of all the races.

Trion's already announced that there will be a new playable alien race in one of the upcoming DLCs. They just haven't said which race it will be.
Sensoth all the way... us Silverbacks gotta stick together...
