Why are people mad about infectors?

When detonators one shot people and require even less skill to use? Just curious. The average grenade round is as powerful as a sniper headshot.

People don't like to feel completely helpless in PvP. It's like being stun-locked in an mmorpg--you just sit there waiting to die and there's nothing you can do about it.

The point is: Once the bugs pop up you pretty much are dead.
Not to mention that your shield regen gets delayed as well.

Does anyone know if bugs hatch from a decoy? That would be an unfair death. Pop a decoy. Bugs from your decoys death then kill you.

What detonator are you talking about anyway? Boomer and Pounder have around 600-700 dmg, Detonators between 800-900 dmg. I don't know which of those is equal to a sniper headshot... a bolt action sniper rifle has standard 1000-1200 dmg, when they crit in the head they can even hit for 3000 dmg... Even a semi-automatic sniper rifle as standard 600 dmg or more, which is equal to a Boomer + the Boomer still needs to hit within less than 1 meter from the enemy player to do that damage and if the enemy player uses the 45% explosives range reduction perk, then most grenade launchers except the Detonators (with their sticky grenades) become useless.

Another fact is that grenade launchers still require more skill then infectors, because grenade launchers don't have auto-lock-on-target, don't have homing projectiles, don't have growths blocking your vision, don't have growths that interrupt any kind of regeneration or cloaking, don't have parasites that chase you at sprinting speeds...
Even the Courier shotgun is more effective than most grenade launchers, simply because it fires two grenades at the same time which each do 1900-2000 dmg (2.5 times more dmg than a Detonator) and they're sticky too.

PS: I hate noobtubes in every game, but unlike other games they don't pwn in Defiance, they're average at best.

Ist not the weapon itselfe that makes me mad. its the player behind the weapon who thinks that he is the super pvp pro but refuses to accept that any fool can be at top with that one. those that are telling others to stop whine because they would be so super pro.... its like goin on a fly-fishing constest and ignoring the rules and droping a fishnet inside the water and you pull out 100 fish and think your a totaly bad azz fisherman here... rofl

If detonators were so overpowered, wouldn't a lot more people play with them on EU-PC?

Consoles are a different story, as using a pad gives a clear advantage to anything with which you don't have to aim very precisely. But on PC I know that I have no room for error when I'm facing a skilled AR/LMG user. If I do anything wrong, I'm dead before I've even had time to detonate anything.
