In the post terra-formed, post Pale Wars world the only other cities or towns that truly exist are the ones run by the E-Rep (New York, etc...) and the Votanis Collective (somewhere in Brazil).

Those areas are very segregated. There is very little mixing between humans and Votans and one or the other are basically second class citizens depending on the zone of control.

So to ask for a City or more mixing of all the races in game would be to completely ignore the back-story of the world or the "Defiance Universe".

To ask that the game look more like the show is to completely ignore important elements of the stories for both.

As to the other point...Variational weather would be a lot cooler and should be in the game. Razor rain sort of already is in the game (what do you think some of the atmospheric effect graphics are when you drive into the radius of a major arkfall). However, the stuff doesn't really interact with the players...Which would be a lot cooler.
To be honest we have been given lots on information on the world being very segregated with the EMC being mostly human the VC being mostly Votan. Defiance being unique I understand.

But there was mention of many other places / cities where we dont know exactly what the population mix is mad of. New York is mostly human, Brazil mostly VC, Defiance mixed, but there is mention of Alaska and Chicago who knows what other places there may be.

Now if they did want the area to be segregated there is still room for cities to emerge. I mean in the show Varis sounds like a bad@ss kingpin who runs the Bay Area. He sits in a bar in the middle of nowhere with a few guards (oh and owns a dam). They could easily make a city / town / anything more than a couple barns where varis runs gambling, prositution, loan sharking, whatever as a city that would make sense in the wasteland. After all scrip runs things not race to Varis it seems.

I really wish there was more game in the show.

There are some things they mentioned in the hype which didn't pan out at all. There was so much talk of objects in the game and show looking similar yet I haven't seen a single weapon in the show from the game. They all use standard modern firearmslike the G36, MP5, USP, and P90 in the show while we have all of the cool stuff in the game.

I mean, you'd think there'd be a ridiculous amount of EMC surplus floating around North America so we should be seeing tons of beat up VBI weaponry. Hell, we're not even seeing any of the FRC/Frontier stuff in the show.

No outfits match at all except the ones that go from show to game. Why hasn't some small merc outfit rolled into town with some grimy, busted up EMC Heavy Trooper armor with some EMC LMGs and ARs? Or why haven't we seen some of that armor laying around half broken in a junk yard or in some EMC vet's house or something?

Why hasn't an ark hunter with an EGO implant showed up in the show yet? I thought for sure that the chick with her two buddies from all of the live action trailers would have shown up in the show this season and we could have seen some people use some EGO abilities or something.

I was disappointed to realize that most of the concept art they were using in the "Explore the Game" section of the Defiance site is actually for the show, not the game. http://www.defiance.com/en/media/images/concept-art/

Obviously, the ones that actually show the Arch are for the show, but it looks like a lot of the others are too.

That busy street scene, New Streets, New Opportunities? (http://cdn.defiance.com/defiance/ima...ws_960x540.jpg) The file name says that's the Hollows. The other one doesn't give any clues (http://cdn.defiance.com/defiance/ima...g7_960x540.jpg) except for the white birds that might be seagulls, except now we know that can't possibly be San Francisco, and there are no streets full of people anywhere.

Before the show aired, I thought that perhaps they were using needwant as a name for a type of business, but now we know that the picture they show (http://cdn.defiance.com/defiance/ima...or_960x540.jpg) is clearly a concept for the one in Defiance.

That cool police station? (http://cdn.defiance.com/defiance/ima...or_960x540.jpg) The file name suggests that was a concept for the Lawkeeper's office in Defiance.

There's also one of the shield wall from the pilot, and another of the Volge army from the pilot.

It may not have been intentional, but of the 13 images, 8 are for the show and have nothing to do with the game, and one seems to be a mashup of features from both (it has a roller that looks like it comes from the show, but a raider that looks like it comes from the game)

I can only assume that the caption Interior Design to Die For (http://cdn.defiance.com/defiance/ima...g3_960x540.jpg) was some kind of joke, because once you buy the game, it turns out that most buildings don't have interiors. They're just bricks to hide behind or ram into when you're taking a short cut and they haven't shown up yet, and doors in this game are cosmetic features.

Until you see the show and the game, you don't have a good way to know that the pics, included under Explore the Game, aren't actually concept art for the game for the most part. I was looking forward to getting across the bridge to San Francisco, where I assumed we would find those streets full of people. What we get when we get across the bridge, of course, is somewhat different.

How do people still confuse the EMC (Earth Military Coalition) and E-Rep (Earth Republic)....

The EMC is a long dead institution in the game and TV time frame. It was a Pale Wars (and pre-Pale Wars) organization. The only surviving elements of the EMC are the mutants in Mt. Tam who have so much brain damage they think the Pale Wars are still going on and that the EMC still exists.

E-Rep is the post Pale Wars institution. The EMC and E-Rep are not the same thing.

Sorry I meant E-Rep not EMC. And they can both be mistaken since they both start with an E and have to do with humans. That being corrected I think my reasoning behind why a city / small town can exist in the game still stands. We need a hub to gravitate to during down time. A place to have reason to group up / use the social part of this MMO (which many people have said is really missing).

It's quite obvious that the shows prop department and the games art department didn't exchange notes when it came to outfits and weapons. The game looks like Halo meets the Road Warrior, where the show is more Firefly with aliens. Where were the VBI Assault rifles, where were the Klocks? Why hasn't Cooper's name been mentioned once on the show?

    http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...rld-we-play-in!

The link above covers everything that would be needed to introduce a story line and incorporate our defiance world with st-louis (The city from the show).

Defiance needs a city, please Trion.

Though with all of the money put into it, better release it and try to get something out of it instead of just canceling the project... they were too invested at that point...
