Sounds like the complaints are pushing a race to equal ineffectiveness for guns.

Trion really need to think about dual stats; one set for PvE and one for PvP. Then they can mess around with PvP as much as they want until everyone's on an equal pea-shooter and not mess up the PvE/co-op game.

I agree about the shotgun thing, I don't really understand what's the point of it.
However, immunizers benefit hugely from the +1 burst mod, so fixing it will actually bring its power down significantly.
And crazy syphon procs were not just a problem in PvP, they were extremely OP in PvE too. This is not a PvP-centric nerf.

As far as I can tell, only 1 of these changes is driven solely by PvP (infectors). The rest has arguments both in PvP and PvE.

I'm liking these changes. More pistol ammo? Yes! Nano effect CD? Yes! Rocket Launchers? Not sure they needed it, but OK! Screen shake fixes? Yes!

    For the more...controversial...

Heavy Scatter Gun - Not sure how this is going to help really, but I guess we can wait and see how it plays out. Could be a buff, could be a nerf.

Infector burst mod change - This was needed. It shouldn't have been changing guns to be full auto. Changing the mod to a 10% RoF increase is a good move. It makes using other guns besides Immunizers attractive, while toning down a fully auto, long range option.

SAW nerf - I LOVE my SAW's. LOVE THEM! But I have to admit that part of the reason I love them is the reason they needed to be brought down. The issue is not that all other LMG's sucked (Disruptor aside), but that they all sucked when compared to the SAW. Thus, making the SAW the problem. There is almost no situation in the game where you're not better served by equipping a SAW. There's a reason why a SAW will sell for 1-2 million, easily double what any other weapon, no matter how well rolled, will sell for.

No one wants their favorite weapons nerfed. But it's been my experience over the years that, no matter how much it sucked, a nerf was almost always needed. Even if I couldn't realize it until after the fact. The question isn't whether it needs a nerf or not, but will they adjust it in a way that brings balance without making the gun completely useless.

So this is because the mobs were complaining?

The weapons should have been addressed individually - a blanket change to nano procs affects different weapons in varying amounts. Nerfing some that maybe needed it; nerfing others that needed the proc as is to be attractive/viable and having virtually zero affect on others.

A slight nerf i could see but that's not how nerfs usually pan out, most of the time they utterly destroy what they nerf.
Hence why i would really like to see the numbers they have planned for the new damage.

Spoken like someone who doesn't pvp.

PvP is actually pretty well balanced (with the exception of Cloak). I get killed by an entire range of weapons (except RLs and BMGs, 'cause lol). Sure, there are a few crutch weapons like immunizers and fraggers, but by and large it's the player that makes the weapon, not the weapon that makes the player.

Oh I don't disagree with that, I don't like the fact that my syphon blast rifle is going to go from "decently useful" to "pretty weak". But I do disagree with your view that nerfs necessarily happen because of PvP. Of course mobs don't complain, but PvE needs balance too, or it's just not a fun game. The upcoming Volge sieges and battle arenas are supposed to introduce challenging battles. If some weapons are too powerful, the challenging part won't happen.

Yes true but this is a lazy dev team who can't be botherd to do things that require thought, so instead just nerf, nerf, nerf

So... practically this makes high rate of fire weapons no better than low rate of fire weapons. Obviously the burst damage is a little better, but you run out of ammo far quicker, and you're essentially gaining no benefit for the more rapid hit rate.

I think... yes, this does seem to be an attempt to get everyone using Wolfhounds. Glad I've got one in my inventory. My Wolverine's not going to be as much use as it was.
