Wow do the devs actually listen to the community or play the game. Instead of nerfing the saw how about buffing the other useless lmgs or how about making the smgs a more viable option or nerfing the infectors or you could finally do something about the courier sawed off shotguns they are way overpowered my god they out damage the rocket and grenade launchers

I think... yes, this does seem to be an attempt to get everyone using Wolfhounds. Glad I've got one in my inventory. My Wolverine's not going to be as much use as it was.
Next is nerf the wolfhounds because all other pistols are crap

As I have said dozens of times, no nerfs/buffs will help balance the game. The real thing that spoils PvP (and the reason why I gave up playing Defiance) is EGO Powers. I hope there will be a bright day when the devs will make a PvP mode without EGO Powers for those many people who were disappointed by them...

Surely, without EGO powers, you are playing CoD. (I've never played CoD, I loathe PvP, so I could be wrong.) Without EGO this is a generic shooter, and not that great a one.

PvP is actually pretty well balanced (with the exception of Cloak). I get killed by an entire range of weapons (except RLs and BMGs, 'cause lol). Sure, there are a few crutch weapons like immunizers and fraggers, but by and large it's the player that makes the weapon, not the weapon that makes the player.
I PvP occasionally and I agree that the player makes the weapon.

If (ok - when) I die in PvP I always think that I need to improve, not that any weapon was OP'd.

But not everyone thinks that way and IMO it usually appears that forum calls for nerfs are driven by PvP experiences. Very rarely is there a call saying 'I tried weapon X in PvE and it made my other guns feel worthless'.

(Course I still hate bunny jumping in PvP - I'd love to know how that works in RL battles)

Problem with bunny hopping is that its effects on weapons are inconsistent. With an AR or LMG, your bullets go flying all over the place, but with a shotgun, SMG or infector there little or no effect on your spread/bloom/recoil/etc. Therefore there's no reason not to hop around like an idiot. A few simple controls, like reloads being interrupted when you jump, taking more damage in the air, etc, would help, but even then you'll still have hoppers simply because it's how people have learned to pvp. Hell, my first couple matches in Defiance I was circle-strafing like an idiot, simply because that's how I pvp'd in the MMORPGs I usually play (or at least the ones that don't have auto-face).

As I state above, IMO player calls for nerfs are usually PvP driven but yes PvE does require some balance.

But the devs are in for a nigh-on impossible time anyway if they want to somehow make content challenging for all. One man's challenge is another man's brick wall and a third man's walk in the park.

The seperate weapons need their own feel and advantages/disadvantages - else there's no point having different weapons.

We should have crazy accurate guns. High damage guns. Fast rate of fire guns. Guns that home.

But each advantage should have a disadvantage. If the SAW has a higher rate of damage, make it take a split second longer to prepare/aim, or make having one in your load out reduce your movement or make it overheat and jam occasionally or whatever... Don't just drop the damage so it's equivalent damage to other weapons, decreasing weapon diversity.

BTW they should never have had weapon classes sharing ammo... ammo reserve sizes would have been another factor to tweak to provide weapon balancing.

re-balance of weapons = dog poo.

I love my SAW and I'm upset that you are wrecking the game for no reason. Why don't you simply buff all the other pieces of garbage you guys call weapons to bring them on line with the SAW. Very stupid.

Nerfs are the worst thing to ever happen to video games. Don't worry wolfhound lovers, you're next.

Devs - while you are killing the game from the inside out, why not remove infectors from PvP?
Why not allow players to customize PvP matches to exclude certain weapon types? That way you would never have to nerf anything.

Nice shotgun buff too. I would rather have less pellets but more damage per pellet. now each pellet will do 1/12 of the total damage, but the max damage is staying the same. ???? I've re balanced the dollar. It is no longer 1 bill, it is 4 quarters but is is still $1

Another major issue with nerfs is that players are dropping large amounts of Scrip for orange weapons that they love and now that weapon is a pile of poop. You are starting a war by nerfing the saw. There will without a doubt be players that straight up quit this game because they spent 800K or more or their dream SAW and now it is a going to be a longer reloading slower firing SMG.

Like i've said in other NERF threads. This is poke and jiggle. You poke one side of the jello and the entire thing jiggles; These little pokes are having massive jiggle effects all around.

Of course people rarely complain that a gun is overpowered in PvE, but:
    1) Game devs usually don't base their decisions solely on players' input (and that's a good thing), they also have their own data
    2) People do talk about OP weapons all the time. For example, have you seen Alexri's video, where he chains Volge emergencies with his syphon tachmag? Or the various threads in the Trade section where people are selling green syphon guns for 100k+ scrips?

    Dredful. :|

Dear Gary, I have a suggestion. How about you guys start FIXING BUGS instead of nerfing our favorite weapons ?

I will give you a quick list:

    - 30% of the time when I am the group leader, the other members are NOT queueing up with me in Matchmaking when I start it (PvP, Co-Op, Shadow Wars)
    - when we exit the matchmaking we are put into different phases
    - when I play Freight Yard, quite often my aiming reticle glitches, it is either gone or it changes to a Ceberus rocket launcher reticle
    - THE EGO SPAM! BEEN HERE SINCE LAUNCH! (sorry, caps, had to, super annoying)
    - groups are often messed up in Co-Op (other people not displaying)
    - when I'm playing a Co-Op map it very often says "finding a match"
    - not to mention that arkfalls are still freaking bugged (lol)

And this is just the stuff fron on top of my head.
