Lol. That pretty much sums it up. Hundreds of players. Thousands accessible in one game server.
64 is a lot... But not Massive.
And other REAL MMOs, you group up with large parties.
This is the most antisocial, social game ever.
But look at the game description. It even says Shooter. Not MMORPG, or MMOFPS. Or even MMOTPS, in this case.

If you feel the social aspect is missing do something about it. There are some great clans out there doing what they can to improve the social aspects of the game. Does the chat feature suck and need help? Yes. Should that be your excuse for not trying? No.

I do that with my snipers all the timeHeadshots, mostly on Raiders and 99rs.

Well, for all of you out there on your podium preaching about how this is NOT an MMO, perhaps you should re-visit you're local retailer and see how this game is marketed. Regardless of what you're personal opinions of it are, it is sold as an MMO shooter. That is what the stores call it, that is what Trion calls it, and if it is anything less, then we have a clear case of false advertising. More over, I think it is you people who do not understand what an MMO is. Massive is not a set term. It does not mean you have to have more then 100,000 or a million players on a single server. You know what makes a game an MMO, the company calling it an MMO, nothing more, nothing less. If you dont agree with the company, thats you're problem for spending you're money on them.
Next, as far as the difficulty rating, I understand a few of you people out there are die hard shooter freaks that compete in Halo tournaments and large CoD competitions but for the rest of us, we dont quite carry you're level of skill. I have a full friends list as well, and NO ONE on it, including the Ego 5000 people can solo a Volge emergency. You sir are a god if you are doing that on the regular, but none the less, you are among a very very select group of a few people. Most of us could never even contemplate that. The difficulty rating is just fine where it is. Any harder and there will only be 20 people playing this game.
Another thing, you people honestly show how little you understand of video game programming. You cant just go in an increase the A.I. of the enemies. That takes an entire coding upgrade that may or may not even be compatible with the processing power of the game itself. Yes, you're high end PC's may be able to handle this but what about the 100,000's of us who play on the consoles that could NEVER pump out the power needed for what you want. Not everyone has mommy and daddy to purchase a 5000$ gaming PC so we can play video games. Think and educate yourselves before you speak.
So in closing, what really needs to be done is people need to check their attitude before making posts. YOU are not the center of the universe and the game or company does not tailor itself to you're individual wants. Keep in mind, you are you're own person, and no one else is you, not everyone will have the same skill sets or ambitions that you have, and just because they do not cater to you does not make them wrong. If you feel the game is too easy, then might I suggest you go find a more challenging game, or go play professionally. But always remember, what might make a game better for you could very well ruin it for everyone else. And contrary to what you're mommy always told you, as an individual you are not that important. And for the record, the you I am speaking of pertains to no one specifically, and everyone generally.
I am only a so-so shooter and I have been soloing Volge since EGO 3500 or so. That being said I do not feel they need a buff. What I WOULD like to see if a buff to the rest of the opponents; not up to Volge level perhaps, but perhaps make them a bit more of a challenge. I should NOT be able to walk into a camp of Raiders and wax every one of them without a need of seeking cover or even using my EGO power in some cases.
Admittedly I can only do this with one of my SAWs, but that is also why I feel the SAW nerf is a needed thing. Just hope they do not go overboard and only bring it down to a sane level; not with the other LMGs, but with the other top weapons of their respective class.

Defiance is a MMO shooter. You seem to be confusing MMO (massive multiplayer online) with MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplaying game). Defiance is a massive multiplayer game (with guns!), so yep, it's a MMO. Just helping you get your own facts straight.
A lot of folks seem to be assuming the game should be like a MMORPG tho', and it's nothing of the kind. It doesn't have all the encompassing tropes of a roleplaying game because it isn't one. If folks want a MMORPG, they should go and play one. Trion's other game RIFT is a halfway decent MMORPG and it's free.
