My chat name ingame?

My name in chat is basically my email adress, is it suppose to me like this? i do not want that to be my name.

Your in-game chat should only be your characters name. Did you forget to give yourself a name on the character creation screen? They might not have had in place an requirement on the name like other games do. If this isn't your first time testing Defiance make sure that the character you are playing is not your stress test character because it's riddled with older bugs.

You have two names. One is your "nickname" that defaults to your email address minus the @whatever, the other is your character name. If I'm not mistaken, your "nickname" is what should be seen in chat, and above your head. However there is an option to see people's character names instead of nicknames. I believe before you even get to the character creation screen you should have had a screen that asked what you wanted your nickname to be, however I'm not sure at this time if you can change your nickname or if you need a trion person to do it for you.

oh, i must have missed that screen that asked for a nickname.. i most certainly do not want it to be my email address which it is currently now... i really hope i can change that in the future..i really don't want to make a new account

Same here! I have my e-mail for nickname, and don't seem to find a way to change it...
