Same here, I bought this game hoping to get away from what I call the "C.O.D syndrome", and yes there would be some PvP but it would be a very minor aspect of the game - an after thought almost. But it seems now that the few - and it is a very small minority of the defiance players who play PvP just look at how long it can take you to find a match, are dictating what happens to everybodies game, I really wish these children would go back to getting off on C.O.D, thankfully the new C.O.D is out soon so hopefully these kids will disappear in a few months never to return - I have all chat settings muted because of them, they are that bad and that self centered, I have heard kids throw tantrums during arkfalls because they weren't left to get the kill shot on the "arkfall bosses".



My dog carries more than 30lbs when we go for walks, and our average walk is 5 miles, and I have seen some extremely accurate shots pulled of with LMGs on and off of firing ranges over the years. Though I think the "nerfs" are pathetic and nothering but catering to a group of gamers Trion have no hope of retaining - the C.O.D kids, I honestly don't care enough about it to make any sort of commotion over it, like IO said I play PvP less and less nowadays.

You do know that 30lbs is less than 15kgs right? - you can buy plastic injection molded dumbells that weigh more than that even pink ones. It's not exceptional for a bullterrier especially when your trying to keep him in good shape. not "fighting trim" but good shape. Are you going to now claim that all the dogs involved in weight pulling competitions are B.S - some of them, especially the bullterriers are pulling thousands of lbs I believe the world record is over 3000lbs by a dog that weighs less than 100lbs.

And you can pelt yourself with that "B.S. Flag" for claiming to be a " door kicker" who has difficulties managing a 15kg weapon. As a former frog man myself - national service than as part of the civil defence, I know for a fact if that was the truth you wouldn't make the grade and would be excluded on grounds of health and fitness. - I was expected to be able to swim 2km with 10kgs, not so impressive when you realise that your lungs will lift 12kg on their own with decent breath control.

Guess what, I've seen extremely accurate shots - not as accurate as a sniper rifle, pulled off from LMGs from the decks of rocking ships, from the shoulder.

There is a reason support class based shooters and rpgs have a long history of success. This give players the opportunity to take on extremely powerful adversaries by working task specific on what is meant to be impossible to solo with hopes of bigger rewards.

Take Borderlands for example, defiance borrows many elements but not the most important- class based specialization. I can choose a maya class in borderlands and build her phaselock to heal, handle crowd control, or even high dps. I can blend all three or just focus on one for group play. Support classes and good combinations come in handy if your playing 4 player co op. (which is preferred for the best drops) It becomes even more important as the game actually jumps considerably in difficulty after the first play through.
Yeah i know, it's just scaling to your level so it actually isn't becoming more difficult. It's an illusion and a damn good one that defiance should have not ignored. Find me one person who likes firing a gun of equal power at ego 50 as ego 2500. You won't, it's silly and gives us nothing to strive for.

You don't want classes? why? As it stands in defiance everyone is the same. (especially with the SAW issues)
If you want to play games where all characters are the same you play twitch shooters like COD or Battlefield.
This game would be considered the absolute worst twitch shooter of all time because it's not.
Its an MMOFPS with serious leanings towards RPG that never follow through well.

Borderlands is the benchmark for this genre. Destiny, Defiance, and The Division all are competing for supremacy in a unique genre borderlands seemed to have spawn.
So far, defiance is an awesome idea not taking nearly far enough.

4 gallons of water weighs 32 lbs. you're telling me you put the equivalent of 4 gallons+ of water on your dog when you go for walks ? post of pic of your dog's pack rig.

as far as my health and fitness, it's not nor has it ever been an issue, barring a couple injuries. i'm a stout guy. i didn't ride around on a boat all day. i was out there carrying my gear. we don't have buoyancy compensators in the infantry. yeah i'm scuba qualified.

i don't doubt that some of your beefier guys can make some good shots from the shoulder with a weapon like an m240b, which is a lot like what the saw is in this game. a good shot and sustained fire are 2 different animals. an american 'saw' is an m249. weighs about 15 lbs. 7 lbs for 200 rds. another pound for a scope and laser. m240b is 26 lbs. 7 lbs per 100 rds. it also has a longer heavier barrel, which puts more weight farther from your body, giving it leverage against your shoulder muscle. there's a reason it comes with a bi-pod. for accurate fire. it's a crew served weapon system. the assistant gunner carries a tri-pod with t&e and flex mount. even with the flex mount eating some recoil and your tri-pod sandbagged you are still going to get barrel hop. if you don't know what a t&e is you aren't qualified to argue with me.

also, this would be a horrible game to require a 'healer'. ppl would try it, but would quickly get bored of holding down the left trigger and swapping to their other bmg when their charge went dry. now what ? healing spells ? lol

I think you underestimate the interests of support players and people who enjoy playing them (myself included) . It doesn't matter if your pressing a spell key/button or holding a trigger to heal with a BMG.. Is it so much less boring then holding the trigger down with a saw and pressing overcharge? lolz That's a reach.

The point is this game requires zero team work based on lack of challenge and depth of specialization.

And yes it is a TPS not FPS MMO... my error in phrasing but u get the drift.

I got first place enough times that I don't even try anymore.
what is the incentive?
Which leads us back to- there isn't a nerf or buff in the game that matters in PvE
Your rewarded the same as the guy who stands there and fires one shot from a North Star the entire arkfall

i just don't think a game like this has any place for dedicated healers. in any mmo with healers, the healer has to use multiple abilities to be effective. i have a razer naga for pc games like that. 12 buttons on it and i still end up clicking another dozen buttons on a regular basis.

i can't speak for anyone but myself, but i never would have picked this game up if i had thought it would ever be another heal/tank/dps game. i did however think there would be some significance to the origin, ie outlaw, veteran etc, that would affect weapon specializations.

Nothing at all. It just reminds me of COD logic. I gain nothing ever match over and over except beating my personal best kill count or streak. I picked up this game so that a great fight might get me some rare drop or epic loot. It's just not very rewarding when loot is random.
