At EGO 1600 a magical thing happens.

You lose all your mod slots, which I admit is a bummer, but all of your weapons have a chance to have an EXTRA bonus on them and that extra bonus has a higher efficacy than the bonuses you previously saw.
LOL!... I found that out the hard way, I was like "Oh I didn't need to stock up on all these weapons with all 4 mod slots open"... Then boom... Now I'm like "Oh maybe I can catch a sale at a vendor or get lucky with this lock box and get a weapon with all 4 mod slots open..." lol...

Maybe you shouldn't be the one calling other people unattentive.

And if you think the minor difference in weapon potential is worth 3500 ego levels of grinding which has to include repeatly grinding weapon exp and doing mess up pursuits like destroying 50 vehicles in shadow war, then do it. Show us a 5000 ego character.

No, I think getting 3500 levels of EGO is fun because this is a game and I have fun with it. Who cares what my reasons are for leveling up, this isn't what was brought in to question. I am not the one who created a thread asking that even more of this game gets nerfed, that was you.

Say, for example, they take your consideration into play. But instead of letting you lock your EGO in place, they just decide "scr.ew it, lets drop the max EGO rating to 1500". Now you have even more people complaining that they maxed their toon out too quickly, and the absence of an end game adds zero replay value to come back. You are using ark salvage and perks as a crutch to try and justify your way of thinking, and all I am doing is disputing it. Some people like leveling just to do it. To see visually that they have spent more time in the game than others and having a numerical value to show for it. You never get HP boosts when you level, why not single that out as your reasoning? Fact of the matter is, even leaving the perk slots to open when they do, still isn't a significant reason to level to EGO 4000. It's not like the perks in this game are game changers, and it's not like modding the guns you have give you a significant advantage over an un-modded gun. Period! If you had a barrel mod that added 50% DMG boost, or a scope that highlighted characters in infra-red I could stand by your outrage and agree with it. But in reality, absolutely no mods in this game are that much better than an un-modded gun except for magazine size. I am EGO 3470 because I have fun with this game, and killing aliens with my real life friends is fun regardless of everything you say.

If you don't have fun with the game the way it is, you don't have to play it. No one is forcing you to. But what you are trying to enforce is at complete odds with the way this game was developed and is not constructive whatsoever. You are offering an easy out for people who don't want to continue grinding after the 2000 EGO threshold. "Here pay a little money and stop leveling for good". Sorry sir, but that is complete trash. I am honestly surprised this thread hasn't been locked like the other ones. No good can come to Defiance if this strategy is put into play.

    Have a nice day!

When someone suggests an optional thing, and you then turn around and extrapolate it to some ridiculous scenario of developers deciding to force it on everyone, you are grasping at straws.

And the EGO lock idea would be trash under almost every other scenario, I agree. But this is defiance we are talking about, the game that defys all logic and expectations when it comes to player progression.

(PS: you have avoided answering the trading problem)

As it stands, levelling past 1000 is going to be a profoundly bad idea.
Sorry, but good ideas are a violation of the forum rules. gtfο.
