Meh, i have a buddy that works QA for madden, i won't boycot them but i will say they're a money hungry giant!! I can say that i'll shell out money for an EA game over a Gearbox game for sure... i mean A:CM...wow...still burned i lost $60 on that!! I mean even MoH:Warfighter was playable haha!!
I had a feeling A:CM would turn out to become a Duke Nukem Forever so i rented it from red box and it confirmed my fears. Word to the wise spend $2 to rent a game from redbox for a day and save yourself from a loss of $60

Nah i don't base all my game enjoyment on graphics alone. if i did, i'd just be an elitist PC console snubber lol!! I honestly thing A:CM lasted 20 minutes in my 360 before i shelved it. I may give it a go just to get some cheevos but thats it.

Honestly Defiance looks pretty sharp considering its an MMO on console. I can't really complain about how it looks or plays based on a beta version thats 2.5 months old.

There aren't many games that i'm going to drop $150 on though. Now 3 years down the road on a next gen console if there is a "sequel" of sorts to Defiance i could drop some change on a fancy version if this game holds my attention for a good long time.

I merely want to point out from a dollar stand point the $150 is worth it for the contents of the UE package. Now on subjective terms that is entirely up to the one making the purchase. There are many reasons one may not wish to spend that much money, but that does not lessen it's monetary value.

That said only each purchaser can determine if the item is 'worth' the money in their own mind ultimately. So let's change some parameters, what would make a game worth spending $150 on?

He is right nobody is holding a gun to your head, to purchase the ultimate edition, except EA and their over priced dlc's

Predator is where it's at lol! Alien and Aliens were great as well and even Predator two because of the Danny Glover factor...infact to keep on topic of Defiance.. The Lawkeeper Reminds me a heck of a lot of a young Danny Glover haha!!

As for the prices and pre-orders..

it all comes down the the collector mentality and the well saving some $ by getting a combo .. game + all dlc. Honestly if it's a series i really enjoy and i have the extra $ to buy some ultimate edition, I'd do it. I've gotten a few tin cases on my shelf but i've never dropped more than the $90 for a game.

if someone has the money and wants to spend it or has a credit card to use, cool. me..if the cash isn't in my pocket, it's not happening.

I almost orderd the Ultimate Edition from Gamestop. But after taxes and, shipping and handling it was almost $180.

So I got the collecters edition from BestBuy since i get a good discount for shipping from them.

I went with just the Delux Edition... after comparing the two side by side... for someone like me, it made better sense to get the DE and the Season Pass, and save $10 in the long run. Honestly, most of the "collector" stuff like the statue and the bag... meh... it's swag but not something I'm really interested in. Now in 25 years when there's a major Defiance cult following and they start having Defiance Cons (Def-Cons?) and there's collectors shelling out big bucks for these items, I'll get to stand there and go "I coulda been a contenda..." For the experience I want and that I plan...the DE was enough for me. Originally I was only going with the SE, but after the Beta... I pulled the hook out of my mouth and upgraded to the DE and put a down payment on the Season Pass too.

You mean in-game outfit? If you purchased the UE, you do.
