I tried that quite awhile ago, it only changes the "title" within the first post but what shows up on the forum for a title doesn't change.

There is nothing wrong with speeding up game progression to allow newer players to compete, but there is something very wrong with marginalizing the efforts of those who came before. There must be a balance and synergy between cultivating an increasing player base and not forgetting the ones who brought you to the dance.

I'm sorry, but there are plenty of people that have been here since day 1 that are just fine with the proposed changes. The only group that are upset by the change are the players that felt the need to push their way to 5000 EGO when there was very little reason to do so.

It's pretty rare for any developer to reward players that sped through their game as fast as possible in it's opening months. That said, Trion will almost certainly add new content and benefits at higher EGO ratings over time, as the bulk of the player population progresses up the ranks. Adding it in now just to make the outliers happy would lead to more grinding and more complaining all around.

I sympathize with the intent of the original post, and the only real problem there is the technicality over calling it a 'petition'. I would also note however, that Sledge did post a response in the already-stickied thread regarding the patch:

We’ve reduced the EGO requirements for perk slots because we want more players to focus on a bigger suite of perk-customizing choices earlier on in their game time. We understand a few higher EGO gated perks slots are desirable to our higher EGO level players, but we feel we can bring better items to strive for to replace these few perks. However, we hear the complaints about increased costs at higher EGO ratings and will be addressing this in our next scheduled update.

Finally, improving the chase for higher level players is something our team is keenly aware of and is part of our future plans. We want the rewards for those who play longer to be both desirable and balanced, but this is something that will take a bit more time, as we continue to focus on key issues we have all experienced in the live game.

That could almost serve as a direct reply to the OP, even though it was posted earlier in response to similar concerns.

I feel extremely cheated by many of Trion's latest actions. I'm a little over EGO 3200 and already feel that there is little left to work towards. I think that I SHOULD have a significant amount of advantages over lower level players, and I don't. Isn't that really the point of level in an MMO? This is just one less advantage for me. Anyway, I fail to see Trion's logic lately when it comes to additions and patches. It's almost as if they're being purposefully rebellious to the community.

Trion tends to close these regardless how constructive and well written those topics are.
