i just recently found out about how to obtain reputation within factions, but being as i am 500 EGO, is this even worth it, since most of the items are ego 300- 375

get the pursuits checked, get the title if you are one of those people. get the xp from contracts
as you level the items in the vendors will progress with you, incrementally.
The items available will grow along with you at specific level points (I think its about every 500 levels)
But ultimately, rep points are used to complete pursuits more than for getting weapons for use because the weapons are not well designed and getting a complete faction synergy set is impossible.
US NA PC - Lucifer <You will be Assimilated> - EGO 5000
Agree.
I bought the bio S/A sniper at Top Notch, just to test since thats what I was working on at the time.
The bio sniper isn't available to me anymore at Top Notch, just as an aside.
Anyway, even without the official mods it's an OK sniper, and dead quiet compared to the same model in Rolling Thunder I compared it to.
In all other instances I just buy the cheapest crap at the Rep vendors I can so I can complete the pursuit specifically because of the lack of mods.
These are just my opinions.
I have lots of opinions.
Some of them, on occasion, people have agreed with.
I do not trust those people.
NA/pc.
2013: Mid E-5XXX main, but I played 26+ 'toons from E400 to E5500. (Dormant)
2050: Lvl 499X main
At the moment, since the rep vendors have static lists, there isn't much worth it at the rep vendors.
The only item I found worthwhile is the 0 det fragnova at the paradise vendor.
Otherwise, the only reason to get rep is for the pursuits.
Start getting rep as early as possible - especially Echelon if you can stomach the PvP.
The rate that you can aquire rep is fixed.
50 for a weekly contract and 10 for a daily contract.
You can't power grind these values up whenever you want.
Even if you suck at PvP, it's worth trying for the Echelon.
If you wait until you're decent at PvP, you'll be left grinding out 'trusted' for echelon then the 50 hours you have to log.
Might as well get started on them early.
On my second character, I started PvPing from ego 68? Something stupidly low.
Got smashed but doing okay now and have completed all my Observatory pursuits and i'm only Ego 600 now.
