ending arkfalls withing the first 10mins

anyway... the other day i was the first to get to a "destroy the arkfall" arkfall and was havin some nice fun. i was living the high life, getting xp, shooting things, getting the loot and the little cylindars that give you keys, oh man it was great. then a few others showed up, probably a little more than 5...... they started WAILING on the arkfall, didnt shoot any bad guys, just the big kinky rock. i asked what the point was..... ya know..... ending the arkfall in the first few minutes, far less loot/weapon xp/xp/money/etc. they dropped a few f-bombs, MFs, a-holes, etc. i couldnt believe it!! i was astounded! i shrugged it off, i assumed they were all part of a group......... craziest thing (put your seat belts on) this happened again..... and again....... and again! i asked each time why they were so determined to end the arkfall right as it began, each time i was flamed so hard itd make richard pryor blush.

is the new thing in video games to just not advance your toon? please give me some insight as to why ending arkfalls, before you have a chance to get anything fun/good done, is such a common practice.

They are advancing their toon. They are farming arkfalls for keys and salvage. Key to doing that is finishing the arkfall fast and moving to the next one.

a few times i tried finishing off the arkfalls quickly too, less xp, less loot (by FAR), less money and mainly NO keys. what are you talking about?

Dont know about you but if I get to an arkfall and finish it in under 10min then usually get 5keys two blues or purples and few k ark salvage..... But then again I dont get excited at a few whites that drop off the mobs if I want whites there a few far better farming methods.... 5keys few k arksalvage ..... Rest is worthless.

But most just finish the arkfalls as fast as possible cause some people are sick of them they have already done hundreds of them. They want their keys and to get out. But i guess if you want to chase armored hellbugs with a smg then go have fun.

I want to get in and out collect my stuff and go back to farming till the next arkfall.... But i guess that's why im sitting on almost 4million ark salvage at this point.

Key Codes are obtained through ark falls coop missions instances etc and are used along with scrip to purchase lockboxes which contain items of random value. The more boxes you open the more stuff you obtain thus the faster you get codes the faster you can open the boxes. It's like voltron. The more you have the better it gets! But I digress...

You'll find that most every arkfall shows you that arkfall's objective at the top of your screen. For some types, the objective is to simply kill repeating waves of enemies. For others, it's to destroy a target -- either multiple smaller stage ones, or a single large one.

The objective for the arkfall you seem to be describing is: Destroy the Crystal. Should say so, right at the top. If it's a hellbug one, you do that by shooting weak spots. If it's mutants/raiders/99ers with that objective, they'll either drop superweapons for that purpose, put down explosive fuel barrels, etc. Your EGO will even remind you, often incessantly, of the current method available to destroy the crystal faster.

Either way, that's THE goal for that arkfall, and that's what those folks were doing. It's unfortunate they flamed you, but it's possible they might have been a little taken aback at someone complaining about them completing the arkfall goal.

BTW, re: keys. The little cylinders you're describing are probably the raw ark salvage things drop on the ground, whether you kill them in arkfalls or anywhere else. They weren't keycodes, as nothing physically 'drops' those. You get them as auto-rewards, and you'll get pretty much the same set amount by taking part in all arkfalls now -- 2-3 keys for minors, 5-6 for majors.

i appreciate your input but it has never been a question of objective. the objective, as you say, very prominently displays itself on the top of the screen, directly in the middle, in red.

what i want to know is - what might i be doing wrong? people are mentioning to me that killing the arkfall asap is essential, when i try this, and ive made a major point in trying this (i want to know), i get jack S-word. i dont get keys, i get 1000 less xp, only 100 cash and no loot. how are you finding all of these things?

no not really. Just got 5pm's within a few mins after posting that all asking for info on my farming spots its not like they are some great secret just not alot of people know and the more that know better chance you have of it being nerfed. Instead of replying to each one I just posted here to save time.
