Defiance and Australia - tv show?

First off, let me state I don't want to hear about illegal methods of obtaining the show.

I haven't watched the Defiance show, then I started to wonder why.

So I went looking for a DVD set, itunes download, anything really.
Only to discover that it's not available in Australia via any of those methods.

According to the search info I pulled during my first session, Defiance wasn't released to Australia for some reason.

I'm not sure how current that data is though, so if anyone has more recent info, please feel free to share it.

Also, apologies if this in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find an english language show subforum on this site.

You are looking on the wrong site. Here is a link to the Show site for Auz: http://www.sftv.com.au/tv/defiance/

You can watch it on Foxtel.

It is not in the Aust iTunes Store but is in the US one.

Oh great, so it's on a cable channel only?

One that I don't have access to?

And yes, the iTunes store is always like that, here's a cool show, but sorry, we won't let you buy it because you're using the Australian store.

Well, eventually (and I mean that!) it'lll come to Australian iTunes sooner or later, so I guess I'll just have to be patient.

And the dvd will probably be released here long before that anyway.

Get a VPN (http://www.hotspotshield.com/benefits-of-vpn), change to an American IP and then use this site http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/defiance/422400 both are entirely legal. That's what I used to watch the entire series. There are other methods but this is the one I've used.

Uh yeah, Syfy is a cable channel. I have a Sky subscription because it's about the only way I can get Syfy, and Syfy is one of the few channels I actually watch!

The DVDs hit the shops here (in the UK) on Monday, and hopefully my set will then arrive.

I don't know what SyFy is.
In Australia, it shows on the channel Foxtel (according to the poster in this topic).

And I don't think it's really appropriate to put shows only on a pay2view format, it should be on free2air if you want a proper viewing audience.

Does the syfy site know what country you are from? Because it's free for me to check in US regardless of if I have cable or not.

A female voice says "this content is currently unavailable" whenever I tried to play a video.

Also, according to the episode list, there's not a full season available, so that doesn't really help.

I want to see all the episodes, not half of them.

Especially considering the episodes are the last half of season 1, not the first half!
