    Constructive suggestions for hitting EGO cap

    Morning everyone!

    By now, we all know the perk slots have been changed. We know it's more detrimental to level up. This is not a post to gripe about the changes. There are plenty of other ones going on you can join. The change has been made. So how do we move forward?

    We know Trion's has said they are aware of this issue and actively looking into ways to remedy it. So lets help them out? They do read these forums and they do listen to player feedback. A lot of the recent Arkfall changes are proof of that.

    So list of some things that would either entice you to hit max EGO, or make you happy for having already done it.

    Keep in mind:
    1. This is not a thread to agree or disagree with the changes. Those exist, post in those
    2. They want very little disparity between a 1k EGO player and a 5k EGO player. That's the vision they have for the game. So posting that being 5k should make you more powerful isn't very constructive.

    Ideas:
    1. Reverse salvage matrix costs (not my idea, there's a whole post that was started about this. But it was a very good idea.
    2. More load out slots (again, not my idea. But very good)
    3. Ability to customize weapons. Reroll one bonus stat ever or improve 1 base stat by 10%. Super bonus if I get to name my weapon.
    4. Convert XP awards from Arkfalls/PVP/Co Op/Emergencies to either scrip or salvage.
    5. Increased scrip/salvage/reputation rewards across the board
    6. Increased chance for rare item drops from enemies. Perhaps even a chance for oranges to show up in vendors.
    7. Unique titles/outfits/vehicle/weapon skins
    8. Introduction of some kind of endgame content that isn't PVP as not everyone enjoys that. Increase rewards from PVP at cap for those that do enjoy it.
    9. Implementation of mod crafting once you hit cap.
    10. Ability to "invest" in 1 faction, gaining a small amount of scrip based on how much reputation earned for that faction per day ( this one is likely technically infeasible).

    Make high ego players feel like their character is not some gimped pos. Give a REASON for people to KEEP playing.

    You want to talk about diversity and builds, with 4 sets of perks to choose from, you'll have more diversity and builds then any other game available.

    5k Ego players will look and feel like 5k Ego players. Not just be someone who has played way to much and is now on punishment mode.

    As I'm sure their original idea (Trion and SyFy) was to make more than one season of the show, you are playing side by side with it. I'd figured I was going to hit level cap during the last season aired just playing the mission that comes with each season? I mean main story and 104 things to do for season 1. Another 104 for season 2, 3, 4 and some DLC inbetween... You get it.

    Why rush to EGO 5k during season 1 or even during a few months of playtime? I don’t get people who rush through content and then complain that there is nothing to do?

    - I would quite like a few more loadout slots. 5 is actually not a lot if you want to experiment with different builds, while keeping your favorite PvP / arkfall / sieges / co-op setups.
    - Unlocking the option the reset a weapon's mastery bonus at, say, EGO 2000 wouldn't suck either.
    - Making all weapons (not just ARs and SMGs) get an extra bonus roll after a certain EGO would be quite an incentive as well (could even make different classes of weapons start to get that bonus at different thresholds), but might cause some unbalances (wolfhound with double crit roll anyone?).
    - And yes, slightly increasing the chance of getting epics and legendaries as you level would be a very, very powerful incentive in a shoot & loot game. Say the current chance of getting an orange per item is 6% in a T4 lockbox (I think that's pretty close to reality); make it 4% at EGO 10, and 8% at EGO 5000?

    Increased chance of getting better loot would be a great incentive in my eyes. Doesn't even need to be a large increase. Even a small increase would catch my attention.

    An increase in loot drops should be small, definitely. But something you CAN notice. As for lock boxes...I think those are ok as is and should stay the same. Increasing the drop chance from mob drops/Arkfalls/co ops would be plenty in my opinion. Especially if the increase came with an increase of salvage gained for higher levels.

    Personnaly, what I think is doable :

    - Reversing Salvage Matrix costs : lore-wise, a low EGO means lack of experience. And lack of experience means little mistakes that will increase Ark Salvage need in order to 'craft'. Note that this should be dependent on both Item's and character's EGO.

    - Add more loadout slots. I wish I had 10 loadouts in order to test every single build that I have in mind. 5 Loadouts @ EGO 1000. 6th @ 1500 and then 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th @ 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000.

    - Scale rewards from Coop, PvP, Arkfalls and Sieges. It does not have to be a huge difference, but something like a bonus of (EGO/1000)% (rounded down) on every reward would be fine. (0-999 : no bonus, 1000-1999, +1%, 2000-2999% : +2%, 3000-3999 : +3%, 4000-4999 : +4%, 5000 : +5%)

    - Double Inventory slots gained thanks to EGO.

    - I like the idea of investing in a faction... Once level 5000 and if your character wears the faction title. Yep, could be interesting.

    - EGO 5000 character should have the ability to choose which team to join in PvP (easier to join clanmates this way)


    This is what came first in my mind. I'll came back later if I have new ideas

    Yeah i should have been clearer. I mean an increase in the rarity of items dropped by mobs. Like even a 1% chance of purple from mobs.

    Nice to see people coming up with constructive ideas instead of complaining.

    Love the ideas for Salvage, Loadout slots, and converting XP to script/salvage after reaching EGO cap.

    Not loving the suggestion on tiers of perks as much, since it goes back to making the higher EGO players more powerful.

    Let us get more salvage from weapons and/or let us trade salvage.

    upon hitting 5000 Ego no longer tells you how to do an arkfall

    an option in the matrix to change the skin of weapons (the hidden vendor weapons all have cool/different skins)

    an option in the matrix to change a weapons stats (Nano, synergy, rolls, and exp bonus) with OUTRAGEOUS amounts of salvage and/or scrip to give people a reason to actually want Salvage and/or scrip....
