I give up with Lockboxes. Any suggestions to help here?

are u absolutley postive you didnt get them? ive had many times happen when i bought boxes and it dosent show getting them..but the items will be in your inventory,at least when i was around that was happeneing things could be totaly broken now lol

You can get Oranges at any ego rating. I have seen people with heaps of oranges when they have not even broken 200 ego rating yet. I am actually getting better gear from the specials in the merchants then I ever get out of the boxes

I never use ark salvage to buy codes. I just have been able to get so many because every time I go to do the main story restart missions, an arkfall turns up

Exactly - just grind arkfalls and missions and co-ops Keys are a plenty that way...though to the OPs point. Orange scores are a scarcity at best.

I suggest people stop focusing so much on oranges and play with the stuff they already have. Build up salvage, get to know the weapons, even the base weapons, and get xp on them. Along the way be surprised when you do get an orange, especially if it's good, or by the purples you can get that are often just as good or better.

The ultra rare weapons are ultra rare so only so many people will get them. It's good to know the game doesn't require them. But it's also true that that means there are other really good weapons out there that will do the trick.

I have an orange northstar flare. I'm lucky that it has a nano as well as it's own fire effect. I also have some purple northstar flares with other nanos. My main focus with them is getting bigger mags. But even with the 1 shot mode, I still like to play with them. I am also running around with my sniper rifles, even going after Volge with them. I have an orange Infector, but I'm still more likely to play with a purple Canker or a blue Innoculator-again I just love going after Volge with them. I go to arkfalls and tend to not use the oranges I have.

I think you just have fun with what you have. If something better comes along, that's great. But if you chase something, you often end up frustrated and that's no fun. If you are surprised and you get something great, that's just a lot better.

i believe i cracked the code on the lockboxes this week. the last 12 tier 4 ive bought have yielded me 8 oranges.worked for my buddy as well, he has gotten 2 oranges from his last 3 teir 4 boxes using my method. too bad i figured this out at ego 5000! lol

My suspicion is that that changes. So on any given day tier 2s might pop out more. One day a clan member kept pulling out oranges from tier 2 boxes at Shondu's. Others raced over there and some also got oranges from tier 2s. Another member swears he only gets them from tier 3s. What might happen is there is some thing that overrides the "randomness" and the seeming statistics that give a slight edge to getting oranges from tier 4s.

By the way, over the weekend I believe I bought over 100 boxes of all types (probably well over 100-probably over 200). In the past week, probably over 300. I got 0 oranges and got a lot of greens-more greens than anything else. And yet some people can breathe on a lockbox and it poops oranges. It is what it is.

Yes it is. My first orange was a 106 Infector. But then I didn't get another orange until level 2600.

I don't think ego level affects the possibility of getting an orange. It may affect the quality of any weapon that you will get. At higher ego levels, you are more likely to get multiple bonuses on the weapon. But my 106 Infector has 2 good ones, so it's possible to get good bonus rolls on the more rare items at any level-just more likely they will show up at higher egos.
