    Just bought the game :)

Game looks awesome, hopefully it will give me hours of fun. Got myself and a few friends to purchase the game while it's on sale. Anything we need to know or any advice/tips you can offer to make things a little easier when we start out?

Also are you groups/clans/guilds whatever they may be called on this game?

    Thanks
    Benzh

Tips: Use cover; first perks should be Blast Shield and Regeneration; salvage--don't sell; don't judge a weapon by its color; don't cross the streams.

Have fun and be patient with the patch updates. You can also going groups and clans. And try to do all the pursuits in your area to get your ego up quick. For good reference on finding data recorders, pursuits, contracts and such I go to http://www.defiancedata.com/

    Welcome to the game
    • Follow the mission and story lines
    • Don't leave an area (like Mount Tam) before you finish all pursuits
    • Sell White items and break down green/blues you don't need or want
    • Aim for the head, crits make a difference
    • Pay attention to the 'Goals' there are lots of items and EGO to get out of completing them

    Have fun

There are clans yes. Joining one is recommended if you like to interact with other players, as social features are currently not working as well as they could.

Oh, and here's an important piece of advice: see that xp bar that appears on your weapons? When it's full, either stop using that weapon or reset its mastery, or you won't be improving the corresponding skill anymore.

Id imagine there is some way to contact clan members but that doesn't bother me too much.
I'm in a gaming community known as Netsky, have our own TeamSpeak server. Voice chat makes games a lot better.

    1. return the game and hope for a refund.
    2. if you do play. limit yourself to 1 hour a day. (this way it will take you 2 weeks to go threw all the content before hitting the grind.
    3. ifyou play more then 1 hour a day be ready to be bald in 1 week and a lost of your voice from screaming at the bs in the game in 2.

there is a reason why 1/2 the people at launch ether sold, returned, or stopped playing the game.

Do the opposite of what tuckerpb said, and you should be fine.

Yes, there is, but it doesn't always work quite right. Group chat pretty much always works though.
But yes, for now it's best to join a clan that has an external channel of communication.

tuckerpb reminds me of another piece of advice for the OP: a lot of people on the forums were disappointed, sometimes even angered by what they perceive as broken promises by Trion, the way the game works in general, and some recurring bugs. This sometimes leads people to react in an excessively negative way, or post wrong information. So take what's written in these forums with a grain of salt. What matters is whether you personally are enjoying the game or not.
