So certain weapons like what i now call the VPLOP- Vot Plasma Laser OP im sure we all know which gun this details(for the children remove the death light), grenade launchers, rocket launchers, basically anything explosive. is op in PvP and Coop not to mention tend to cause game crippling lag, so im going to give my suggestion on how things like this can be fixed to give all players regardless of ego rating a fair chance.

PvP- there are many ways to fix this, and on topic of PvP TDM is way to short, games take maybe 3-8 mins

1. simply make any explosive weapon none equipable, teams have a cerberus which is enough explosive power on its own, in the case of TDM games are far to short and one sided because of explosive weapons.

2. make explosive weapons a power weapon. still unequipable but become something earned or fought over as a random drop, this could implement the ark fall idea, a random piece of alien tech randomly falls in a ark which players fight for.

3. make explosive weapons heavy, if you have explosive weapons on your load out, blur is slowed down, you can not sprint, and you can not jump or roll. this is an even trade off as we still need to aim to hit you and having someone with a launcher or rocket jumping around is wrong on any game.


Co-Op- the main issue with people using explosive weapons in coop is kill hoarding. but there are enemies in coop that almost require explosive weapons to be effective, for example the Monarch so for that reason you can not remove them. but here are some things that can be done possibly.

Change how xp works in a game, because people are taking all the kills before lower lvls can even hit a target, make it where they earn xp just by being in the coop so at the end of the game, if they got 100 kills or 2 kills everyone receives the same xp, or make it where the team receives more xp for completing the coop then they do for getting kills. maybe for example on a hard coop they receive 15k xp for completing the coop and 3k if they got all the kills.

of course with this is the issue people will join and do nothing, so to counter this you would need a way to determine lechers who would get 0 xp all together. this could be done by, did the player activate objectives? did he hit targets? and most importantly did he damage the boss? no matter how op your guns are, bosses can not be one hit so if a player did 0 damage to the boss and was not downed in the fight, he leeched.

another thing that can be done is secondary points, this is like in battlefield and most objective games, you receive points for playing the objective, reviving, assist things like this, by adding points to capturing the objective points and reviving team mates this is the most effective outcome, after all Coop is about team work, so working as a team should be rewarded. having someone with heavy shields take agro as you shut down turrets or cap objectives, and maybe one person with lower shields runs support throwing grenades to stun, healing, ect. this is team work and should be rewarded.


ending note-
i know you guys are working hard to make all players regardless of level equal in there ability to win in coop and pvp, but with explosive weapons how they are, and people able to steal xp this is not going to happen, this in my opinon is something that should be looked at and worked on otherwise coop and pvp will simply become who has the best explosive weapon.

one thing that would also work in both instances is simply the ammo aspect, for pvp explosive ammo like grenade launchers and rockets are pooled together and do not regenerate on respawn which makes sense as weapons that fire high explosives tend to get hot and need longer then 3 mins to cool down, so yeah explosives can get you a few kills, but not game ending amounts. in coop this would work almost the same way, only when you collect ammo your explosives will get ammo but then have a timer, within that time, ammo pick ups and ammo crates will give you no explosive ammo.

now i am not a game maker, i do understand things are easier said then done, how ever if nothing is done about these explosive weapons. this games coop and pvp will die. i mean you can read through the forums and see countless people mention how unfair of an advantage explosive weapons are.
