Hey, Tier 3 or Tier 4 lockbox for stocking up on purples? Any experience would save a lot of time for me and would be much appreciated. Im so obseesed with saving my keycodes that I only save up for Tier 4s, buying a bunch of T3s and not being satisfied of my decision is and would be a bit depressing.
all a tier 4 box does is give a 4th random item, go for tier 3....way more cost efficient

I'd honestly go for Tier II if you're looking for anything but Orange. You can get three of them for one TIII, which means six rolls as opposed to three.

Don't listen to what anyone else tells you, just read the link that jazz provided. It's the only thing that has more than anecdotal data behind it.
And if you want an executive summary: get T3 lockboxes if you want purples, T4 if you want oranges.

Most reliable way to get purples: Arkfall rewards. Or vendor specials. This is if you want weapons, shields seem harder to get again but I assume they will be tied to Sieges when they return.

Your data is anecdotal because you're not providing a systematic account of it. Did you keep track of all your lockboxes somewhere? If yes, how many did you open? How many green / blue / purple / orange items did you get in each one?
Have you even read the link that was given here? That's non anecdotal evidence. If you want to contradict it, feel free to start a new data collection project, because gathering enough data points on your own to have a statistically significant result will take a long time.

Yes, i`ve read the link that you put in the thread and numbers are what they are.
In my accountability more or less, A T4 lockbox should have a 2.666 time more chances to get better loot from that lockbox comparing to the T3 lockbox.
I don`t care about about broken data, my experience says, and to me my experience is what matters to me, that if you buy 1 T4 lockbox you spend 64 keys and get 4 items.
With 4 more keys you can buy 3 Tier3 lockboxes and get 9 random items.
See the matematics ? You have twice the probability of getting an orange item this way.
But then some may says that a T3 has a % chance lower then the T4 and i say that personal experience would tell if im right or wrong.
My personal experience says that i spent less keycodes in T3 locks than on the T4 locks. My experience also says that when i stoped wasting my keycodes on T4 locks and started investing on T3 i got 3 orange items.
This is my experience, i`m sure other players had different luck on each tipe of lockboxes Tiers.
Best way to check if it`s real or not is to use the keys the way any one should see fit.
It`s completly RANDOM and the small % of advantage that the T4 gives over the T3 it`s not worth it in my humble opinion.
In my opinion, buying 3 T3 lockboxes gives you a 2x more chances of getting what you search, maximizing the use of keycodes.
FACT : never got an orange item in T4 lockboxes.
FACT : got 3 orange weapons in T3 lockboxes
That`s all i need to know.
