I was wondering if I can transfer my character on xbox 360 to the PC version of defiance. If not, why can't we just link our CHARACTERS to our trion account so we can continue them on any platform...

Actually, Microsoft and Sony have nothing to do with it.
The character data is saved on Trion's own servers, it wouldn't be too hard to migrate from one system to another.
The problem that would come up is with people having same clans, names etc. So it wouldn't be a completely easy transition, but it is doable.
It has been stated that M$ did not want this. No idea how true it is, and I never cared enough to look it up but it would not surprise me.
