DO NOT LET YER THREE YEAR OLD PLAY! Gawds man, seriously?! its rated M. meaning its a strecth for an 11 year old. but atleast you asked, didnt get it then blame the company for it when it was too violent and graphic. But to be honest, it does have actual swear words like **** and **** ( last one not sure of, but sh*t for sure. The captian says it when the ship goes down. Also *******. when speaking to van bauk, however ya spell his name.)
but it'll be fine for the 11 year old, since if he's playing GW2 he should be fine... maybe. the swearing is pretty noticable, but thats about it. not much sexual themes or drug refences or hell even blood. ESBRA gave to strong a rating. Its a teen game for sure.

Video game violence and foul language. Umm...it's kind of like asking, "is Call of Duty good for children?" Simple answer, no...it's not. It's representative of people shooting, stabbing, running down and killing each other. Not to mention giant teeth ridden monsters that jump out of the ground to eat people. I think before allowing the wee ones to play this, you'd better try it yourself. Or, if you're still not sure of the content, wait for the television series to air (April 15th) and then judge it by that.

Safe? Probably, I mean, you might want to watch out for repetitive stress injury or carpal tunnel.

If you meant appropriate, that's a different matter altogether.

There are Main mission lines that are solo only. But there is a lot of content that are a blast in groups and not everyone needs to have high skill levels to contribute. The Coop maps are four players, but if the three of you group up then you should get matched with a fourth in the Que.

There is a pretty high instance of "F u c k s" in the game but other then head shots, its not overly violent.

Players cant hurt each other in PVE. You can hurt yourself if to close to an explosion.

You don't really run into the swears until you get passed Mt Tam. Hard to say what may be toned up or down for launch.

Rated M for a Reason If you do let your Kids play don't complain when they hear or see something they shouldn't. You've been warned.

Also take into consideration the Voice Chat and how its effected Other Games such as Battlefield / Cod - Usually some very colourful language used by little kids in those games.

There is blood when you kill and NPC, and it's pretty apparent they are hurt, so might be much for young kiddo's. My oldest is 10 and plays CoD with all his friends, so the blood and hurt didn't bother me. Both my kids asked me to get them a console copy of the game. I'm still holding out on that personally for the language reasons mentioned. They can stick to killin zombies in CoD or BF3 for shooting atm I think.
Thank you! You answered my question on that!

For the other people who commented about ratings. Do you know that if one person, just ONE, does something naughty, it gets a certain rating. I have not played this game, I did look at the rating. But wanted to know first hand by people who played.

There are several swearwords in the game that aren't made up. It all depends on what you're comfortable subjecting your child to. As far as I know the game's rating is "M for Mature." But that hasn't really stopped anyone from buying it in the past.
