If you let your kid watch PG13 movies, they'd be alright to play this.

At the very least, I believe, all MMOs released in the US have a rating of "T" Teen due to the openness of game chats, and PMs, along with the fact you never know who will contact your child through the game.
IMHO, its all going to be based on your child's maturity level any time you go against the ESRB rating.
Please read game rating and included warnings and make your own decision. A public forum is likely not the best place to make decisions for your child :P
Agreed.
For the warnings associated with this game, it is likely not going to be the carebear community :P
As a parent myself I might ask other parents their thoughts on a game my kids want to play, if it's one I don't play regularly. I don't really play CoD for example myself but asked other mom's who do play it what age they let their kids start and what sort of language and VOIP system is used etc... The ratings are a guideline to let a parent know what generalities to expect, but each parent will have a different point of view for what is appropriate for their kids.
Because of the parent input I got, they can play it but are restricted to who they can play with for example. A public forum of gamers mixed of young and parental types would be a great place to gather information, to make a decision rather than just a rating alone. People don't always buy a game based on the ratings many will ask friends who play it what they think of it... example. I saw this as no different personally, just more specific.
prolly except its an mmo so if your kid does play i'd hide the chat window just in case some ppl say mature stuff on the chat
I'm not a parent, but I do have nieces and nephews and perhaps the only one I *might" let play is the oldest at 15. The language and situations are not child appropriate and while the combat is similar to Tabula Rasa the world, especially with all the mission cutscenes is not. This is one game that definitely deserves the M rating.

I'd say as far as shooters go, this one is fairly kid safe, the environments and 'bad guys' are so varied that there is no line blurring with 'real life' the language is curbed. and another good thing, you can turn off VoiP and the chat is small and in the bottom and can be muted.. so you can avoid online idiots.
I'd say yes. I'd let my nipper play when she is a little older ofc
