What is with the lag?

What the heck is going on with the lag in game? I have played the game back at release and never lagged like this, its made the game nearly unplayable for me and a friend of mine, he tried to do a time trial on the runner, and the lag is so bad the checkpoints won't even load. Its network lag not videolag we both got fairly good pc's. Any eta on a fix for this? Because the game is unplayable atm.

My guess would be steam sale and free weekend, now we have a lot of new players and server overload. I like new players and hope they stick around but they need to address lag but that could take awhile.

Progenitor Arkfall was lagged out and everyone kept getting knocked back over and over and over like a dozen times in a row even when the boss was at rest. I got knocked back all the way to Bug n Chug. It would have been funny if not so sad.

Hehe, yeah twice that's happened to me now. Lag Monster is out big time this weekend.

It isnt the sale/more players. You can be in the most desolate of parts of San Fran where the new players have yet to reach and will experience the issues. I'm almost sure this has to do with the patch or a server side adjustment that was made post patch that didnt require our client to update. Some elements of this lag and rubberbanding and other issues are not unlike some of the issues during alpha that were similar so Im guessing they tried to change something.

The engine they're using for this game is horrible for these coding/play issues, imo.

I was their when that happened. I thought I was the only one experiencing this lag it gets annoying. It gets bad for brief moments then it just starts working fine. I was trying all kinds of things to fix it I thought it was from my computer or internet.

I got this a few times after a new patch the only way I found to fix it was redownload the entire game again. because it's not network or video lag, it's just some random bug that comes from the patches.
