    Is this REALLY happening?

The game is awesome fun and we all want to hop in there and play with our friends, but it looks like the coming launch might be more than a little problematic.

Good decision = make an awesome game.

I don't need to go into details here, but its awesome. The beta showed a super fun and well put together game. I hope you all got to try it for yourselves and know what I mean here.

Bad decision = waste a three day holiday weekend by choosing to launch the Tuesday after.

They could have launched going into that weekend, or let pre-orders play that weekend as an early access helping to stagger the launch and make Tuesday less stressful, but they didn't do either. Reasonably, maybe they need that time to keep polishing off bugs or something, working through the holiday to get the game ready. We can't really know for sure what's going on, but it was a wasted opportunity regardless.

Bad decision = not allowing customers to download the client before launch.

No early access is one thing, but no pre-load is just mind blowing. Early access is a common thing, but pre-loading is just about standard. Not only that, but considering how much bigger the full game will be than the beta, that download is going to take a LONG time. Now forcing everyone to do that download on launch day all at the same time...we'll be lucky if we have the download finished by the end of the week. We've gotta hope something changes here whether its them waking the frack up and letting us pre-load, or at least having better equipment so it doesn't take 2-4 days to download at 0.3 mb/sec

So is this REALLY happening? No early access? Ok. No pre-load? Everyone try to download everything Tuesday? Really? No wayyyyy, that's crazy talk!

Please please please Trion, be smart here and help yourselves out. Or go ahead, jam the servers up as bad as possible Tuesday, frustrate the bejeezus out of a lot of your customers who eagerly pre-ordered your game and turn "launch day" into "download day" (because we'll just be downloading for that day and maybe part of the next one).

I realize I am probably being a bit melodramatic, and I apologize for that, but it gets the point across. A lot of really good decisions went into the making of the game, clearly, and its a great game. Please don't sully that with really bad decisions at launch time.

    I still have hope!

Theres a good chance that with it being Easter Weekend, they dont have the staff they would need in the building to physically launch the game. Hence why it was pushed to the Tuesday?

Seeing as how I got to go out of town Monday for about a week... would of been nice to play.

A holiday weekend launch means all hands on deck for the company and no holiday for the employees.

Download issues are certainly a fair point. Many people are buying a disc but there will certainly be a launch day patch. Hopefully the number of downloads from scratch is not as bad as you might think. I would not be surprised if they make some sort of announcement along these lines.

Virtually ALL software is released on Tuesdays. In truth, most products sold in stores are released on Tuesday (just no one really cares about the new brand of dish soap). The reason for this is mostly due to supply and the moving and staging of massive amounts of goods. Does it make a lot of 'sense'? Not to most consumers, but from a business perspective it does. As for 'waste a three day holiday weekend', easter is not a 'holiday weekend' and aside from US public schools, it's not a 3 day weekend. Since the target audience for the game is not school-aged kids, the decision to 'waste' the weekend really doesn't make an impact.

Meanwhile in Syria, thousands are being killed on both sides of a burgeoning civil war.

"Within a few decades, machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence, leading to The Singularity -- technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. The implications include the merger of biological and nonbiological intelligence, immortal software-based humans, and ultra-high levels of intelligence that expand outward in the universe at the speed of light."

You guys have it alright with download even on 02/04. We xbox users have to wait for UE until 12/04 apparently Namco Bandai dropped the ball and delayed Ultimate Edition for xbox

Launch date didn't get "pushed back" to April 2. That's been the only launch date we've ever seen announced. I totally agree it would be nice from a player's perspective to be playing on that holiday week end, but... what if the game isn't ready by friday? Would you rather get a quality product on time or a botched /rushed game early? As to your point about pre-load I totally agree with you. Let the downloads begin NOW. Sure, some of it will probably need to be pacthed om launch day with some last minute changes but that's a lot better than trying to get to whole thing on launch day.
