Defiance on Steam

I pre ordered Defiance on steam when it was at 70% of the first tier of rewards. The bar was filling up at about 5% per day. Now its jumped like crazy 35% of tier 2 in just a day its kinda making me wonder if that many people are really getting it off steam or is this some kind of clever marketing scheme what do you think ?

I think it's because Steam actually put it into the featured games scroll across the top yesterday. I'm sure there were plenty of people that noticed it existed for the first time when they saw it up there.

I bet it is marketing scheme. =D
I also notice same thing happen to Bioshock and Tomb Raider. It start out very slow, and the BAM tier 3.. I was like.. W T F... O_O

I just wish the Pre-Order Steam bonuses would work on an Xbox... sadly PC only. Otherwise I'd have it for the PC too.

It start out very slow, and the BAM tier 3.. I was like.. W T F... O_O

It would depend on how they work the scale. E.g. Maybe Tier one requires 5000 people to reach 100%, tier 2 takes 2000 and tier 3 only takes 700. Rather than a set equal amount for each tier.

was also a pcgamer review recently, and the beta weekend probably pushed people. Plus the people who were unsure if it'd hit the tier 1 rewards are now buying it for that bonus.
