Guys seem to sexualise the pixels (they say things like "I don't want to look at a guy's butt"/"females look better"); females tend to just get on with the game and choose their own gender because it's what we are.

That and I like to look good, no offense to men but they rarely do anything to look good outside of haircuts xD

I swear to god it was this female toon and she had an interesting weapon. So I'm trying to look at it and figure out what the hell it is and I'm like "oh god I hope if this is a chicc she doesn't think I'm scoping out her pixel boobs".

For me it depends from game to game, in mmo I mostly play as female. (Btw Male here) I would only play as male if I can get myself involved in the game. Like XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I would gladly make a character exactly like myself and give him guns and kick ***, also knowing that he can die permanently and I would also give a dam if he got into some deep shtako. In defiance, I would create a male character so i could get involved into the story better, but then the player doesn't speak -.-. So in the end i am like screw it just go with the flow man. Rolled a female and having fun playing the game.

By now it's almost habit. I wouldn't say it has anything to do with sex or perversion, but a developed preference.

I started with the fighting games. I would play Cammie in Street fighter 2 turbo not because she was a chic but because she was faster then most of the other characters and I could pull off her moves. It held true in soul blade (now soul caliber) that the female characters were faster and by now that suited my learned play-style far better. (Someone even hit on this side of the topic in the last thread.)

Then there were the Final Fantasies and the J-RPGs where the healers were mainly women and you we trained to rely on always having them in your party, even if you preferred to never use the Squalls and Tiduses of the world. It was almost like they were the main characters and the male protagonists were just background noise.

Now whenever I have a choice I choose female because it's habit. I tend not to stare at my avatar (Especially since I'm spending so much time staring down the barrel of my gun it's almost like there's no avatar until I'm down.) and I tend not to think about it's backstory beyond what the game has already given me. Besides I used a referential name, and the character it's stole from was a guy in the movie. I'm not one to hide that I'm a guy and I don't use it to get free stuff, I tend more to get everything I need on my own and give away what I don't need. So I don't see why this is an issue, but I'm not going to say no one should have a problem with it.

So I could finally put her in a challenger and drive her off a clif... I mean, I love you babe.




Besides, I'm on Xbox so every character looks like the starting male character. So what the heck difference does it make.

I left Defiance because I will not support games by Trion.
They are inept and lie to their customers if you are thinking of buying this game or any paid content do not waste your money!!!!

haha classic I will have to work on that most people think I sound posh and too proper :P Then they get to know me a bit.
Anyway minus a few cool girls I game with I prefer playing with guys because they are usually more obsessed with gaming, and the conversation is more relaxed. Even if I sometimes have to try and make sense of car talk!

I must say I would not have played tombraider if I could not have had such a lovely view of lara for 3 days :P
