I wonder how that is going to work for people who don't have the basic Rift, 'cause steam normally won't let you buy DLC unless you own the base game, will they? I had been hoping they'd leave it in your inventory instead of activating it on your account.

hmm... I hadn't thought about them just automatically adding/activating it on my account. I've tried to get a steam game moved from one steam account to another steam account (both owned by me) but they won't do it.

it looks like it will be activated as your game, but it wont' be activated on trions end, so the code should be redeemable no matter what since it's independent from steam

yeah, confirmed that a while ago. I think this is the first time steams used a non-exclusive steam title as a bonus. Hopefully it'll draw people into rift if they need a break from definace every now and then
